So I work for a global company and have 2 people from the UK coming over for a project. My new boss asks me if we will entertain them one night for dinner & drinks. He then asks me how far I stay from the restaurant and if I do have a car. I tell him that I do but will be driving home with someone else (my alcohol tolerance is extremely low) and knowing office dinners I will have to drink something. Long story short, he offers to drive me home.
I'm not sure if he felt obligated or really wanted to. And because I kinda like him (and I think he likes me, not sure) I was afraid of saying no as to offend him. The problem is, I'm not living alone (I'm single but sharing a house with other people- moving into my own place in a month)and if he does drop me off, I will have to invite him in for coffee. The set-up will just be embarrassing. I'm trying to back out now and get a ride home with a friend but don't know how to tell him I've arranged something else without making him think that I don't like him and am not interested. Please help!
