My boyfriend hates that my dog sleeps in our bed. What can I do to make him get over it?

I've had my dog since I was 15. He's always slept in my bed with me. I moved out of state to live with my boyfriend and he is really bothered by the fact the he sleeps with us.

My dog is my child pretty much. He sleeps on my side so it's not like he's near my boyfriend and he's only 5lbs so he doesn't take up any space.

My dog isn't sleeping anywhere other than next to me. What can I do to get my boyfriend to accept it and forget it?

Okay first of all its really disgusting that your dog sleeps in your bed regardless how small he is. He should have his own bed and outside the room. its not healthy for you.

Second thing, its not just what YOU want now, you re living with your boyfriend and its not just YOUR BED your decisions now, you re sharing a bed an apartment and you have to accept the fact that things changed and you need to train your dog to sleep on his own.

Third thing , how do you have sex when the dog is always around and on the same bed..?

Anyway, SOMETHING has to change... either you get a different boyfriend, your dog sleeps somewhere else, or you get your dog a separate bed near your bed or even out of the room.

He's not going to accept it, you should look into the reasons why he's against it or doesn't like it. HE'S NOT GOING TO FORGET ABOUT THAT!

Being honest I have to say sleeping with a dog seems gross and is a turn off. There is a girl I really liked and when she showed me a picture of her dogs and they were in her bed that is when I decided she would be a friend and nothing more. I know you love your dog but you're sharing your bed with your boyfriend now and shouldn't force him to sleep with your dog. You probably can't smell it because you're used to it but dogs will make your bedding smell and make your bed unsanitary.

sometimes you have to grow up. Everybody has things they have been doing since they were kids that they have to change once becoming adults. Letting your dog sleep with you is one of them.
