Battery is a criminal offence involving unlawful physical contact, distinct from assault which is the apprehension, not fear, of such contact.

Perhaps. It means he hit someone, you don't know why, if he knocked someone out or the other person. But yes he hit someone, there may be a good excuse but based on the charge may have just been a drunken fight, or loose temper. Everyone does reach a tipping point but it may not be the best idea to pursue this. Also there are websites available for background checks that I believe are fairly cheap monthly or per person charges.

Wow yeah thank goodness I checked him out. I found several domestic violence arrests and about 10 aliases. Could have been bad. But then again that's why I have a fake email and don't give out my real name until I am ready to meet the person. Sounds shady I know especially since they have a pic that is on there. But you can never be too careful and I think this proves it.

I was doing a quick search on a guy I met on a dating site and I found a mugshot that said that was his charge. Just trying to figure out what it means.
