How on earth am I supposed to charge this thing?

I got a new phone today and the lady told me it comes with a charging cable, but I just tried to charge it, and both ends of the cable have the size of the phone slit, so it's to small to fit into the piece that plugs into the wall. What am I supposed to do?

I suspect it’s an iphone. Apple dumped the standard of offering chargers with every phone. I could go into a fairly long rant about how stoopid and/or greedy that is, but…
If i’m not wrong, just walk into an i-hole and tell them what device you just invested half a year’s salary into and they’ll hand you the appropriate charger for $49.99. Easy peezy.

It's a Samsung. I got it at the ATT store.
$49.00? Fuck that! I ain't payin' for that shit! I actually got this phone practically free as part of a swap, but I'm thinking now that they may have sold me a used phone, because of how short the battery life is.

More stuff is doing that. My newest electric toothbrush uses a USB charger and didn't come with an AC adapter. Luckily my old charger works for it.

Yep, Philips Sonicare 4100. Charging base has a USB cord and no wall jack. I could've used one of my USB wall jacks for it. But it turned out my old base with AC cord worked.

Oh, it gets worse. Even companies that have always offered charging cords with their products are now switching from USB-A to USB-B. Free cord is almost certainly outdated. Ell oh ell!

I did have a cordless charging station but my phone outlived the station. Prior to that, it was wonderful!
