I Happen To Come Across This Charger Online Last Night. Does Anyone Know Why You Should Never Buy A Charger Like This For Your Electronic Devices?

As an electrician by trade, and having some pretty decent knowledge of electronics and technology, when I saw this charger online last night, I actually laughed. It's a ridiculous product for one specific reason. It amazes me what companies will sell to people, and what people will actually buy.

So does anyone know why this charger is a bad product for your electronic devices? I'll award Most Helpful to the first two correct answers.

I've never heard of a ground wire not being copper. The Aluminum foil is for keeping aliens from stealing your charger. For $4.95 it must be junk.

That's a decent guess, but no. The LEDs are indeed unnecessary, but they don't require that much wattage to operate.

The magnets have a magnetic field, and probably a pretty strong one to maintain the physical connection between the magnets for effective charging. The magnetic field will visually ruin and slow down the touchscreen, degrade the battery, and mess with other interior components. Eventually that charger will slowly, but surely, destroy your phone.

Good guess, but no. It's the magnetic connection. You should never have magnets that close to any electronics, especially computers and smartphones. The magnetic field from the magnetic connection will slowly degrade them.

I had wireless ear buds that had a magnetic connection. One of the buds died after only a few months. maybe this is why?

It's quite possible. Magnetic fields are definitely not a health food for electronics.
