How can you reconnect with a girl over Facebook?

There's this girl I went to high school with that I'd like to reconnect with. We didn't talk in high school because honestly, I never really thought about her until now. The reason why I want to talk to her now is because we seem to have common interests and she is pretty (obviously).

How should I go about reconnecting? Keep in mind that we never really spoke and it's been about 4 years since I finished high school. By the way, to be really honest again, I really don't care all that much if it works or not, I just want to try for fun.

To be honest, it's highly unlikely you'll get anywhere with any girl you "meet" on social networking sites. By meet I mean establish rapport as well. Perhaps if you had gamed her before but it fizzed out and she still likes your posts from time to time etc. your odds may increase by like 3% but girls tend to run away from guys that are chasing them, and honestly, hitting a girl up on Facebook is precisely that. She may agree to meet you for coffee or something after a late night "deep chatting session" (how does that even sound) but you will have confirmed your interest in being with her before she has had the chance to decide whether or not she's feeling you. It is a proven fact that when it comes to relationships, girls/women ultimately care ONLY about how they feel ceteris paribus. Logically, even if she were searching for a relationship, she will not jump at a randomly presented opportunity for the simple fact that it does not "feel" right. You will fail every time. EVEN with girls that have at one time shown interest towards you. The only way to even have a chance with a girl is face to face. You have to be involved in her life and not somebody from the incredibly extraneous and intrinsically worthless (to her life) Facebook. You are not a texting buddy or "some guy she's talking to on Facebook" you are better than that and no relationships deserve to be at the mercy of a chat window. Forget about it.

honestly I don't see a lot of potential here , first off it doesn't sound like you and her even were friends when you actually went to high school , so she may not even know who you are or remember you . so I'm not sure what there is to reconnect with if you and her were never really connected to begin with .

but I admit to trying to add cute girls on Facebook over the years but gave up due to lack of success . as I was realising they weren't interested at all as we had never been friends to begin with and they weren't interested in dating .

there is nothing wrong with you trying to add her as a friend or sending a message but keep in mind the odd's of success are very low and I'm not even sure she is going to remember you . have you tried to talk to her in real life first ? before trying the online thing ? it might work out better if you said hi in real life before trying the Facebook thing

sounds to me your not a good dating person, no offense. your interest in her doesn't really seem genuine at all. sounds like you're not that into her you're just playing around which makes you a player. there's no point in reconnecting with someone if you start something with that mindset, actually how do you even REconnect with them if you never even connected? you should initiate something if you genuinely are interested in a particular person and are serious about dating. since you're not serious you're just looking to play games and lead people on. not cool bro.

I understand what you mean, but it's really not like that. In response to "I never really thought about her until now", I just got back on Facebook so I didn't know that we had common interests before, that's why I want to talk to her and didn't before.

And "I really don't care all that much if it works or not, I just want to try for fun" simply means that since we don't know and haven't seen each other in nearly 5 years, there's a good chance it's not going to work, so I don't want to build it up too much in my mind. I do genuinely want to date her, and I'm genuinely interested in her, but the odds are stacked against me.

When she posts something that relates to something you guys have in common then comment on it or send a message relating to it. I think that is the easiest way and makes sense. You can then see how she responds and continue accordingly.

If it doesn't work the first time maybe try on another status or something.

Is this on Facebook or something or do you have her number? If so, I'd just go for it and send her a message saying "hey how's everything going remember we went to high school together?" or something along those lines and try to get a conversation started with her.

or something, it doesn't mean she's rude if she doesn't remember but after 4 years and if you never spoke to her it's good to refresh the memory.

really you should not try it for fun, may be not now you want but who no's if she get your company she might feel something good because after such a long gap if you meet some one that feeling is something diff, I guess you should directly go and gift her sweet blue color rose... it implies you are something diff & she will response you very well... try it

The thing about Facebook is, if all you do is Facebook chat, she'll consider you her texting buddy or w/e rather than an actual friend. You don't want that. You want be someone she hangs out with irl.

I suggest you get the chat off Facebook and to phone conversation instead as soon as possible. Just say HI to her when she is online. Start a conversation about something you guys have in common. Let the talking follows its natural flow for a good few hours or so. Then, ask for her number.

Well just add her and then send her a message if she accepts, or she might send you a message. It's normal on Facebook to add people you don't know all that well but knew them from school, it's a way to connect so just go for it.
