Which do you prefer, country life or the city life?

Or if you still live at home, where would you like to live when you're gonna live on your own, the country side, or city?

I personally live just outside the city, so I'm more used to the city life, I guess. I love it, the rush (yes I know a lot of people don't like rushing), the hurry, the busyness, just the whole city vibe, is amazing, in my opinion. If I'll be able to find a nice apartment IN the city when I move out, I'll probably do that. :) Can't wait!

I'm definitely, without question, a city girl. There really is no comparison or contest with the suburbs or the country. I do find the old movies with kids growing up in the suburbs and country in the 70s/80s to be charming and cute, and in some places they have good/decent malls, sometimes the boys are cute, but that's about where my appreciation for the suburbs ends. Okay, that sounds harsh, there's some good in there, but personally, the suburbs and the country are places I may simply visit for varying reasons and admire for a while. I'm going to a farm sanctuary soon and that is in a country-ish area, for example. I can appreciate some aspects of those places, but I would never want to live there. I'd go f***ing insane, personally. And I think that comes down to background, upbringing, and taste. You'll hear students sometimes say they love the city here, but they wouldn't want to raise their kids here or in any city. I hear that pretty often. These are usually people who have been brought up in suburban/country areas themselves. Its the opposite for many people like me, who were raised in the city. I don't want my future children to be raised in the suburbs and definitely not the country. There are just so many different areas and types of neighborhoods in most cities I've been to. So in my opinion, you have more options about the kind of life you'd want in terms of residential environment without having to completely relocate to another region.

My preference for the city is pretty much cultural, political, about the varied lifestyles and groups of people, the career opportunities, the nightlife, more opportunities in almost every way, etc. So that's everything I guess lol The city just has so much more color and life, more diversity and types of people which I love, the festivals, concerts, hundreds of unknown hole in the wall diamonds that you come across, etc. Cities also tend to be very historically rich and interesting. The architecture, landmarks, the way the cities were designed, some cities have really good public transit systems which is awesome, the political significance of some cities, fashion, and liberal tendency is a big point for me as well. I just love it.There's never nothing to do in the city and there are so many interesting stories, foods, events, etc.There's so much here that you just can't find in suburban/country areas. The feeling and energy of the city itself, the people that bring it alive, its all magical in a very ordinary way. City life for me, 100%. :)

For the record, back home, I spent most of my childhood in the city, but I lived on the outskirts of the city, on the city/county line so I have had a pretty even mix of exposure to suburban, city, and even country since childhood. My school was on the city line as well, but I'm going to say anywhere from 60-80 percent of my high school were people from suburban and what I call suburban-country hybrid areas lol I spend a lot of time outside of the city socializing with half of my friends.

City life. I live in the suburbs of a relatively large city (half a million people). I feel like my city is too small to have anything interesting. The only thing you can do here is go to the movies (though you can go to like 10 different movie theaters) or to an interesting restaurant of pretty much any cuisine or shop at one of our 4 malls. But there's not anything interesting to do, just a wide variety of ordinary things. I'd love to live in New York City or something like that where there's always something interesting going on.

I'm a city girl and now live in the most boring place ever! Lol everything opened all the time, the sound of cars all day and night (miss that greatly) the fact that people move quick like they have other things to do besides watching their grass grow.

Public transportation f*** I miss that so much too. And everything is walking distance...

Still live with parents. would love to move to the country, a quiet subdivision where thebhouses are far away from each other so I can play guitar really loud with disturbing anybody. I found that wjen my family moved to a tighter subdivision I could not handle it I was not as creative and I still feel like I can't create songs hntil I'm out of this place, travelling or feeling new or at ease going to the city would be fun for going out then back to the country where I can sleep and think. Away from the dirty city.

I'm absolutely without question a suburbs kind of guy. While I've spent plenty of time in both urban areas (SF, LA, NYC) and rural areas, I much prefer the 'burbs. There is plenty of life and activity available, and you're close enough to a big city to sample the events that big cities have, but suburbs have much better roads and lots of free parking lots, and aren't so crowded that you are being elbowed as you walk down the streets.

I have no desire to live in a big city, and have turned down a couple of opportunities to do so. And rural life is too slow and too far removed from the events and the tech that I enjoy. Give me the suburbs any day.

I am a city person. However, I don't want to live next to a really noisy place (like Midtown Manhattan). I would rather live on the outskirts, but still have easy access to the inner city. My dream is to live in New York City, but in the outer boroughs where it's not so crowded, noisy, and have easy access to Manhattan via subway. Plus, I'm a railfan. I like taking pictures and videos of trains. Big cities have subways. So, I am a city guy.

Actually neither. I prefer suburban life mainly because the city is too crowded and quite often crime rates are high in those areas. Country life is too rural and it's hard to get all the necessities in some of those areas. The ideal suburban spot is just close enough where I don't have to drive forever to get to the stores I need to get to and just far enough to where city criminals aren't as easily able to go into my residential area.

ive lived in the country all my life. I'm in college right now. I live in a dorm in the city I grew up in. but the house I grew up in is so far in the cut that we have to drive to the mail box because the mail mans scared to come down the road

I'm a city/suburbs girl. I love the fact that I can take the train to the city and find a lot of stuff to do and then come back home to my peaceful suburb neighborhood. I live in New York, btw.
