When watching a horror movie in the dark, which scares you more?

When watching a horror movie in the dark, are you scared more if the audio is on speakers or if you’re listening with headphones/earphones?

Audio on speakers.

Audio on headphones/earphones.

Horror movies don't scare me, lights off or on, lol, and I've never watched one with headphones.

But I imagine headphones would be scarier, or at least counterproductive to NOT getting scared. I would think headphones would block out any creepy unusual noises that might be going on in your house during the movie, and you'd be much easier to sneak up on and kill. ;] Hahaha.

I haven't ever watched one with headphones but I think either way its just scary. I am slightly afraid of being alone the dark period, let alone with a scary movie on haha. But not many are truly scary, depends on the movie.

the theater experience is pretty effective at scaring me...but at home with the earphones...i always feel like something's lurking behind me. so I take out one or just pause it and the silence just creeps me out even more

omg... a few weeks ago I watched the entire saw series one night, with the lights off by myself. I would constantly keep turning around lol, by the 5th movie I turned the lights on.

Horror movies don't scare me. I do get creeped out when I watch paranormal TV shows like Ghosts Hunters or Destination Truth at night though. Never watched those with headphones, so I can't really comment on that, though I think I'd prefer to listen with speakers, with headphones on you can't hear any strange bumps in the night in your own house.

Movies don't really scare me anymore.

But the sound is definitely better with headphones because you literally can't hear anything BUT the film and its creepy sound effects.
