Most don’t because most horror movie directors don’t know how to make a horror movie. They rely on cliche formulas, I pretty much already know what’s going to happen in the movie before actually watching it.
- cheesy Jump scares
- Stupid characters
- Horror is nothing more than a background in these movies.
- Pitiful excuse of frightening visuals
- All the characters die at the end of the film. Sometimes only one survives.
- Characters spend most of the movie running away from whatever or whoever is chasing them.
They got the suspense right but the movies lack
- Frightening visuals
- proper lighting
- Relatable characters
- Moments of silence
- Eerie sound effects
- scary things hidden in plain sight throughout the film
- Characters fight back against whatever or whoever is chasing them
Also notice how horror movies that are about demonic entities almost never show angelic beings showing up to save the day? It’s as if the angels are just relaxing as all the chaos is going on. I’ve only watched one horror movie where an Angel showed up at the end to save the human characters from the demons that were after them. And that was the third “Hellhouse LLC” movie.

The Wizard Of Oz was the first movie that scared the crap out of me & all I can say is Flock You Dorothy & your red devil shoes. First you (Dorothy) dropped a house on a wonderful woman & after that you stole her shoes & I don’t blame her sister (Wicked Witch Of The West) for seeking revenge & when she did you murdered her & stole her broom. I was young & that really rained on my parade.
Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Chucky & The Leprechaun aren’t scary compared to what Dorothy did.
How is venom horror? The only movie that scared me and gives me the creeps is the movie the nun. The setting and the vibe gives me the scares. I know I’m weak 😂

No they don't really. Don't get me wrong I enjoy them a lot but well I fidn them to predictable you can always tell when a scary event is supposed to happen.
The only thing is despite this I get really pissed wkrb my self when even tho I know it's going to happen then I end up jumping. When I was younger, I adored Horror movies. Now, I STILL adore Horror movies, BUT the definition of Horror has changed!
When I was younger, I loved Alien, Dracula, Werewolf in London, Jaws, Terminator, etc.
Now, I love Apocalypse Now, 1984, Clockwork Orange, All The Presidents Men, Hunt for Red October, Schindlers List, Ex Machina, Armageddon, Interstellar, etcThe meat hook scene in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was so shockingly scary that I could not close my eyes or look away from the screen.
No other film has scared me to that degree.
Not usually, but I think Seventh Moon was a bit weird and creepy to me.
No I can watch horror movies with all the lights off and with beer and by myself. The issue is it's not good for the spirit and neither is beer so I don't indulge in both anymore.
No. I kinda got a tad freaked out by a couple (not the monster, itself but, the thought of what it actually was) but, never scared.
Wait, is that a picture of Venom? He's a chaotic superhero, lol. Michael Myers would have been a much better representation for your photo. :)
No. Occasionally jump if a scene has been filmed well, but mostly immune to it
Not since I was little. The only movie that scared me as a kid was The Thing. The dog kennel scene gave me nightmares. It doesn't scare me now though.
No they don't scare me. I enjoy the special effects in horror movies
Not anymore but at some point of time, they surely did.
When I was little yeah sure I guess. Now they don’t
Only the realistic ones.
