I used to like them because of the classics, e. g. Halloween, The Evil Dead, Poltergeist, Night of the Living Dead, Shining… but today‘s horror films just seem limited to outdo each other in more and more disgusting effects without any interesting stories.

I hate them. I think the people who like watching them are those who are not spiritual at all or some kind of subset of very spiritual people with tastes in that direction. I am neither, and I don't find them entertaining in the slightest
