Girls, if a guy randomly starts talking to you in a club or anywhere, do you assume he's interested?

So if a guy starts to talking you randomly, maybe on the street, in a club or somewhere else, do you assume he's talking to you because he's interested or does he have to do things to show interest in order for you to think he likes you?

And secondly what's your usual response to all this? If you assume he's talking to you because he's interested, do you automatically reject him? And how do you respond when a guy shows interest?

If guys showing you interest is a rare thing do you act more positively to the guys who do? Or is this all dependent on the guy?

I assume he's interested. From my experiences and observations, most men do not strike up conversations with women they find unattractive. They only talk to ugly women if they have to, and won't go out of their way to converse with a woman they don't think is cute. So at the very least, I would know that he finds me attractive and has some level of interest. My response to this is based off the vibe I get from him and what he talks about. Is his personality charming? Does he make me instantly feel comfortable? Is he a cool guy? Or is he overbearing? Is he impersonal and not charming, just seems like he'd want to rush through the pleasantries just to get with me? And of course I go off of whether I find him attractive and do we seem like we'd be compatible. That all depends how I react to him, but I am never rude to a guy unless he's disrespectful or won't get the hint. I can be dismissive if the guy is too old for me. Like this man at the gas station who tried to make conversation with me, he looked like he was in his 60s. I was really short with him and uninterested because I did not want any further interaction with him.

This is assuming you're even attractive to him to begin with. It's also funny because you're actually accusing guys of doing just what girls do: girls only ever talk to a guy unless she wants some kind of relationship with him or for him to make her look good. Most guys will talk to anyone, male or female, regardless of looks just because guys are more outgoing.

At first I would think he was bored and just making conversation especially if there is not a lot of people around. But if we were both in a crowded place I would of course think he was interested because of all people why did he choose to talk to me? Still that can be deceiving. He would have to show other signs of flirting for me to determine. You know what they say...Actions speak louder than arguments.

Totally agree with you. I don't want to automatically assume that every guy that talks to me is interested. I usually have a guy feeling of some sort though if I think they might be interested in more than friendly conversation. And the way their body language is. If a man leans in and is making a lot of eye contact and squirming his way into my personal space then I would assume he is interested

What I've learned is that unless this guy is a friend or a guy I've talked to before at school, he's only talking to me because he finds me attractive and he wants to see if he has a chance. If this lasts a while, then I presume he's in flirting mode. I've realized that when alcohol is involved, physical attraction pretty much dictates who a guy talks to when it comes to strangers. My response? I deal with it and reply back, unless this guy seems like a creeper/player and I can tell right off the bat that I'd never agree to a date with him.

Not a girl, and you may not like this, but generally speaking females do assume that any guy talking to them means he's interested. Their ego does tell them that the guy must be into her just because she's female and that there MUST be some ulterior motive every time. It's just how they think. Some guys really do have a motive, but most females have programmed themselves to see this as being 99% of the time.

I wouldn't think immediately he is interested in me, most likely I would think he is being nice and friendly. In order for me to think he like me, that has to depends on the convo. If he show interest in me and ifI am attracted to him, I would want to talk further.

Just talking to me would make me think he's interested, and he does sweet gesture like ordering another glass of my drink then that's just extra :)

Depends on the guy, if he's nice and respectful I won't reject him. I would respond to him according to how he approached me :)

At first I would think he's only being friendly. Testing the water to see if he has any chemistry with me. If he thinks he has a chance. He'll normally ask for my number or to meet somewhere for coffee etc. If he walks away without my number or with any potential plans. Then he was just being friendly. He took a chance. That's a plus in my book.

I would assume he's probably bored, interested in someone I know or he's making fun of me. If he's interested in me, I wouldn't automatically reject him, unless I didn't like his attitude or the conversation or if I'm not attracted to him.

I would think he's interested and will go on based on if he's drinking too much or not. Also respect is a must first time I meet a guy.

as if it's just that easy right? That's why I asked the question. If I show interest a lot of the time I get rejected for likely coming on too strong and I wanna get the balance right so girls actually stick around so I can start something:P

It's just that most girls are shy and if you go up to them with confidence (I find confidence the sexiest thing ever), but not cocky, they'll probably like you. Believe me, girls like it when you check them out, they won't get mad :p. But maybe it's because I'm from the Netherlands (country where drugs and prostitutes are legal :p), I'm a bit 'different'...
