Why does my ex go offline on Facebook when I am online?

He broke up with me last week. He told me loved me but that love gradually decreased. We have been together for a year. He is still a friend on Facebook. He knows that I am not going to start a conversation with him but whenever I am online he waits like from 10 to 15 min and go online ..then on ans off. I just need to know why he is doing this. I can't understand him.

correction* He knows that I won't start a conversation..but when I go online on Facebook he signs off..I don't know why he is doing this. Does he still care?

Maybe I don't understand what you're saying. When you are online, he comes on 10-15 minutes after you? And then immediately signs off?

He could be set to offline, and goes online for a minute to see who else is online and then off again. When you're set to offline, you cannot tell who is online, so it's unlikely he's doing it ONLY when you're online. I'll bet he does it regularly, and you just notice it happening when you are on.

I'm usually offline, and am well acquainted with popping online, looking around, and signing off when I see people I don't really want to talk too.

And, YOU might know that you won't message him, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he knows that ;). If he's doing what I think he is, I understand it completely. I've been in his shoes, in almost the same situation before.

He wasn't doing that before

I need to know is he embarrassed, annoyed or care or what I can't understand him

and what should I do..unfriend him?

Oh. I see. Well it could either be that you're very sensitive (it's only been one week) and you're reading too much into a coincidence.

And yeah, he might be online, then notice you online and sign off. Even though he broke up with you, that doesn't mean he isn't at least somewhat hurting, and seeing you online probably doesn't help. I would just give it time.

Oh, and I definitely wouldn't unfriend him, unless you want to completely cut ties with him. Because if he does still care at all, that will hurt him, or at least prolong the pain of the break up. But if you find that's what you need to do to help move on (because his FB antics seem to bother you), then you do what you need to do. But I think maybe you just need more time. A week is nothing.

It's possible that he does not want to talk to you or look at you any more he could be sick of you

Well one possibility is that he just keeps you on his Facebook to maintain his social status to make himself look good that is. If he is avoiding you then technically you aren't still friends but maybe he is just too lazy to delete you that's another possibility. the other thing I can think of is He has decided to only avoid you temporarily why, I can't say, It's possible that he could be planning to let go of this issue later

i suggest that you disappear for a while , maybe 2-3 weeks , to make him miss you , you can go on Facebook but appearing offline , he is doing that maybe to grab your attention , or that he finds the situation embarrassing that you both are online and don't talk
