I understand employers need to know who they are hiring to an extent. We don’t want child molesters working as a pediatrician. I still feel like this is a bit of an invasion of privacy.

As the 2024 presidential primaries near, the former president, already under four criminal indictments, is likely to face yet another legal challenge that appears headed for the courts: whether the Constitution’s ban on insurrectionists seeking office applies to his Jan. 6, 2021, coup attempt.

“The question of Donald Trump’s disqualification under the 14th Amendment will be decided by the Supreme Court,” predicted Michael Luttig, a renowned conservative former federal appellate judge who was once himself considered for the high court by President George W. Bush.

The post-Civil War 14th Amendment bans anyone who took an oath to uphold the Constitution but who subsequently “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” or gave “aid or comfort to the enemies” of the Constitution from seeking any federal or state office.

And while the liberal-leaning group Free Speech for People has been demanding that elections officials in all 50 states and the District of Columbia honor that prohibition by keeping Trump off primary and general election ballots, those efforts were recently boosted by unlikely allies. Two law professors, both members of the conservative Federalist Society, released a lengthy law review article concluding that Trump is absolutely disqualified from running for office because of his Jan. 6 actions.

We at least need a massive retraining, rehire, no guns….

Instead of police we need social workers and mentors for people.

There are countries that have special forces trained and sent to deal with dangerous issues. A level above average shit like “she stole” …”oh no she didn’t that was the wrong person.”

if it is in decline, what is the level? High or a little?

Are there any “green” energies that aren’t complete scams?

This is a hypothetical. This could be that the protest blocked first responders and because of that people died, Or blocked an ambulance and the person inside died because they couldn't make it to the hospital. Or a mother lost the baby because yet again the ambulance was blocked from getting to the hospital.

Here is the rub. This kind of thing is actually illegal in my state. Its a felony to block roads of any kind for any reason without a permit, save for situations like a car accident or if first responders need to block it. I personally think if the above happened and people died as a result those that participated in the protest should be charged for 2nd degree murder or manslaughter at the least.

Conservatives Plot To Dismantle US Government, Replace With Trump's Vision

With more than a year to go before the 2024 election, a constellation of conservative organizations is preparing for a possible second White House term for Donald Trump, recruiting thousands of Americans to come to Washington on a mission to dismantle the federal government and replace it with a vision closer to his own.

Led by the long-established Heritage Foundation think tank and fueled by former Trump administration officials, the far-reaching effort is essentially a government-in-waiting for the former president’s second term — or any candidate who aligns with their ideals and can defeat President Joe Biden in 2024.

With a nearly 1,000-page “Project 2025” handbook and an “army” of Americans, the idea is to have the civic infrastructure in place on Day One to commandeer, reshape and do away with what Republicans deride as the “deep state” bureaucracy, in part by firing as many as 50,000 federal workers.

“We need to flood the zone with conservatives,” said Paul Dans, director of the 2025 Presidential Transition Project and a former Trump administration official who speaks with historical flourish about the undertaking.

“This is a clarion call to come to Washington,” he said. “People need to lay down their tools, and step aside from their professional life and say, ‘This is my lifetime moment to serve.’”
