Texas lawmaker files ‘TEXIT’ bill to spur vote on exploring secession from US

A Texas state lawmaker filed a bill on Monday that would set a referendum for voters to decide whether the state should explore the possibility of seceding from the United States.

If the measure — known as the TEXIT Referendum Act — passes, a referendum on whether Texas “should reassert its status as an independent nation” would be scheduled for the next general election on Nov. 7, 2023. The bill would also require potential plans to be presented to the state legislature.

“The Texas Constitution is clear that all political power resides in the people,” Rep. Bryan Slaton (R) wrote in a statement. “After decades of continuous abuse of our rights and liberties by the federal government, it is time to let the people of Texas make their voices heard.”

A coalition of Texas lawmakers — including Slaton — filed the same bill in March 2021, which was referred to the State Affairs committee. It did not, however, receive a hearing or a vote.

Slaton said this time around, he was filing the bill 187 years after the fall of the Alamo.

“On this 187th anniversary of the fall of the Alamo I’m proud to file this bill to let the people of Texas vote on the future of our State,” Slaton wrote in his statement. “Texas was born out of a desire for liberty and self-governance, and that desire continues to burn in the hearts of all Texans.”

The Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) — whose mission is to secure and protect the political, cultural and economic independence of Texas — called the filing of the bill “great news.”

They've got a big contract that will pay for years to re-supply 155mm howitzer shells. That means a growing economy! They currently "only" produce 11,000 shells a month and Ukraine is burning through 5000 shells a day (150,000 month), so they could expand the contracts. It's a small world after all isn't it? Good for them, they could use the jobs and they are providing essential materials using their expertise and resources... refining metal!

There's a lot you can do in PA nearby. You could drive to King of Prussia and get an excellent Sunday brunch and visit Cartier Jewlers and get your lady something shiny, visit Gettysburg memorial and learn about the USA Civil War 1 or go skiing in Poconos.

I would argue that most men are instinctually protective and caring towards women vs. abusive/violent.

If they weren’t then the majority of women living 200+ years ago would of been consistently raped, beaten, abused by men. Even though that was much more common back then I will never believe the majority of women suffered that on a grand scale. Most men don’t naturally enjoy harming women.

Sure “patriarchy” was the law of the land for most of human history. But I truly believe most men have are instinctually protective over women and wanted them to be happy. They didn’t see them as “slaves” either. They would be like this WITHOUT feminism.

Now allowing women in the work force, leadership, positions of power is a different topic. Of course that was a major issue for most of humanity. But I am really fed up with feminists who believe that men in general would all act on their débase and violent instincts if given the opportunity. Fed up with their false belief that all men are “potential rapists”

Most men aren’t like that no matter what time era they lived and/or if they had to face punishment for their bad behavior or not.

But since eugenics sprang up, “race” has been at the forefront. Be it cops identifying suspects, politicians identifying voters, etc.

Before then race wasn’t that important. I mean blacks were called “boys” or “n*goers” whatever bullshit. But we seem to compartmentalize more today.

The Outcome Of CPAC's Straw Poll Was No Surprise

Donald Trump topped the straw poll of declared and likely 2024 presidential candidates at this week’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) — a shock to no one who has followed the increasingly Trump-dominated gathering of activists in recent years.
Trump was the clear winner on the question of whom respondents would support if the 2024 presidential primary were held today, earning 62% of the vote. In second place was Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) with 20%. DeSantis, widely seen as Trump’s chief rival, has yet to declare his candidacy officially. However, he is reportedly heading to Iowa, the first presidential nominating state for Republicans, later this month and is sitting on a massive campaign war chest. Roughly 2,000 CPAC guests voted in the poll online using their conference credentials.

CPAC hosts conferences nationwide and internationally throughout the year, but the late-winter event is historically the country’s biggest gathering of conservative activists. Saturday’s poll preceded Trump’s keynote speech and was the first taken for the organization since Trump launched his third presidential campaign in November. It showed that at least the people willing to shell out roughly $300 for a CPAC ticket are still in thrall to Trump, far more than in other national polls of the 2024 field.

“We believe in the man, and we want him to win in his terms bigly,” said Allyse Wolf, a Texan who made up one-fifth of a group whose sequined jackets spelled out T-R-U-M-P. “A lot of people say, ‘I don’t like the way he tweets’ or ‘I don’t like the way he talks about people.’ Who cares? As long as he does the job of getting this country back on its feet and where it belongs.”

He did rollback the regulations that MAY have prevented it. But also Trump and Repubs refused to invest in infrastructure and instead pass huge tax cuts.

This includes creating a criminal justice system for the district, overseen by an all-white power base.

Under House Bill 1020, the white conservative chief justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court would handpick the new district’s two supervising judges; its prosecutors and public defenders would be chosen by the state’s white Republican attorney general

State Rep. Trey Lamar, the white Republican who sponsored the bill, lives in and represents a majority-white district more than two hours away from Jackson. (He holds a seat once held by his grandfather, Leon Hannaford, whose legacy includes introducing a 1962 bill to tighten residency requirements for college students, which a local paper at the time reported, “would have kept Negro James Meredith from filing suit to enter the University of Mississippi.”) In various statements on the House floor and in an op-ed from last weekend, the legislator has insisted that HB 1020, by adding unelected judges to Hinds County’s courts, will help clear up lengthy case backlogs, while an expanded Capitol Police force will address a spike in crime in Jackson, allowing his constituents to “feel safe when they come” to the capital.

Things to note with question:

• In this context, inherently is meant to mean inherited by genes.

• Particularly academically smarter, and exceeding in making profit.

• The question states: “In general”. Everyone knows that not everyone in a race is the same, but there tends to be common traits.

•Jewish people are indeed a race (or ethnicity if you prefer that term). And most Jews recognize this themselves.

I think this is just plain wrong. Doesn’t matter if it’s a hospital, retirement home whatever. That vaccine has caused health problems for many people. There’s no good reason a healthy person should be mandated into taking medicine.

But I am so fucking sick of all the woke bullshit they throw into it. You want gay couples for Spanish lessons? Fine. You want woke feminists with purple hair? I will tolerate them every once in a blue moon but they are insufferable when they are displayed in every Spanish lesson.

There are seriously more “progressive” stereotypes, scenarios and relationships in it then there are traditional situations. I swear over 70% of the relationship examples on duolingo are gay relationship examples. Also there is all sorts of feminism examples where the men are often acting stupid and weak vs the women acting smart and confident.

It’s just way over the top and the agenda has gotten to the point I just want to delete the app. On top of that I know for a fact that Mexicans overall hate woke progressive crap more than Americans do.

I lived in Mexico for a while and know for a fact Mexicans tend to be much more conservative and traditional when it comes to family values. So why try to brainwash Americans in speaking into a progressive tone that will make them disliked by many conservative Latinos?

Are there any other good language apps that don’t do don’t have a leftist agenda with all this bullshit?
