It is. I think tax shouldn't be charged on income earned cause you are already paying taxes on the things you buy.
I agree, I see that as double taxation.
Especially since there's NO LAW that says you HAVE to pay taxes! It's SUPPOSED to be done VOLUNTARILY!!
Lol what
@ChefPapiChulo That's right! Even some IRS people stopped [paying their taxes after they found out there's no law saying you have to.

Yes and no, I think it is when it is unfair, such as the guy next to me at work makes exactly what I make but he gets money back from the government and I pay in.
How is that even right? He is basically getting back from the federal government what i pay in... it makes no sense, simply because he voluntarily choose to have a butt load of kids.
I pay 54.7% of my gross income in taxes and that is far too much. Too many people get caught up on income taxes and don't consider there is like 500 different kinds of taxes out there.
I asked a question about this last year, sort of... about if people know what percentage of their gross income they are paying in taxes.
If the government requires it, it is a tax to me. As the government has penalties put in if you don't pay it.
Especially considering what kind of services I/we are getting, practically nothing for all that... such a waste.
It depends.
Money for building and maintaining roads so the economy I'm taking part in can function and putting kids through schools so they can work jobs. I think it's only fair to pay some taxes. The police and firefighters and emt's and people running the cities deserve money and not a small amount.
When my parents die and the government decides that they want a piece of whatever they left me and I have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to inherit their home they paid for or when they spend millions of dollars "helping" the homeless but they're all over the streets cracked out or when the government or when the economy is run into the ground to the point where in order to be middle class you have to be in the top 15% of earners in the country, I consider taxation theft.
Governments do useful things (see the old Monty Python rant on "what have the Romans done for us'"
Consumption taxes and sales taxes tend to land more heavily on the poor than the wealthy. The wealthy can afford to pay a higher percentage of their income - and most income taxes do that.
Yes and no. I sew why we need them, but at the same time, I think our tax system is broken and unfair. There are certain things that shouldn't be taxed in the first place and also certain things that shouldn't be exempted. I also think the tax payers should have a say in where their money actually goes. Like for instance, I don't support Zelenskyy so why should my tax dollars be going to him without my consent?
If it's not done for the people, then yes, but if you want a government and an infrastructure that works for the people, everybody needs to chip in. That's what taxes are for.
Imagine if road maintenance was moved to the private sector; you'd probably get charged 2-3 dollars to travel a few miles.
I'd take taxes over that
Nope. You want infrastructure, public schools, libraries, etc then you need taxes.
No. There would be no country without taxes.
If they have to threaten you, it's not voluntary.
No. Such a stupid thing to say by some. Taxes are needed for various reasons in society.
Yes it’s unfair to a degree
Yeap
