To be honest, it's pointless.

You're far better committing tax evasion or deduction instead - most schemes are even legal. Plus the penalties are far less if you get found out.

Outright tax fraud tends not to be something an ordinary person does, though. It's usually mentally unstable, if not a criminal, mind.

It's a civic duty to pay the least tax you can, without undue risk of getting caught.

I think it would actually be hard to find someone who has never cheated on tax. Like never gotten paid under the table? Ever? Come on now, everyone does that.

Jail

For example coworker ran a chip wagon on the side. One day the IRS called asking if the employer was affiliated with the chip wagon. The guy was using his employers tax number for his chip wagon for years. He showed up saying they wanted him to repay over 50k or goto jail so he went to jail.

I consider it theft. Tax frauds are common thieves because they're stealing from honest people who pay their taxes in full.
