It depends, I think everyone cares to certain a degree of what others thinks of them, unless you are a psychopath or a complete liar. I mean with close friends a family, but I think it comes to just some general no body on the street, they don't care about we think of them. Elon musk, donald trump don't care what they think of them, but family and close friends, I am sure they do care to some level.

The richer you get, the less incentive or motivation you have to taking other people's feelings into account.

It doesn't necessarily make people sociopaths suddenly, it's not magic, but it will very easily let people who are already shitty be as shitty as they possibly are able to be.

I find rich people are more likely to care about their reputation cause they don't need to worry about the things that distract poor people from worrying about their reputation. In general there is a correlation between greed and materialism and reputation obsession.

No, it's actually the opposite. People that have a lot of riches have to keep up with certain social standards i. e. what house they live in, what car they drive, what kind of clothes they were.

Rich people care a lot about image and how others perceive them.

The poorer you are the less you give a damn what anyone thinks because your mind is on constant survival mode.
