I think that's more of a shyness issue than introvert. My wife's an introvert but she's a very social introvert. I'm an extrovert. The difference between us is that while she loves to hang out with friends, she gets tired after a couple of hours and wants to go home and relax and read a book or something in the tub. I always stay a bit longer, so we compromise on the duration.
With shyness I think it's good to try to overcome it a bit (it will help everything in the future if you aren't held back by such social fears/anxieties), and you have to confront it if you expect it to go away. I used to be very shy as well, even though I test as quite the extrovert.
You should really just not care and do what you like!
