Is there any shame in losing a fight to a girl?

My kickboxing class is a mix of guys and girls, and occasionally we have tournaments where some of the matches will include girl vs guy fights. Of course to compensate for the guy’s natural physical advantages the girl will be a higher rank with greater experience and technical ability etc. Anyway, in front of an audience I took on a girl, and while I was winning on points, I ended up losing badly at the end 😒 so what I want to ask is: do you feel there’s any shame in a guy losing a competitive fight to a girl?

I should add that the girl won the fight with a full contact front kick to my groin. With no groin protection allowed, it was obviously an instant and extremely devastating win for her 😒

Yeah, I felt embarrassed and still do 😒 losing to a girl. To be fair she won fair and square under the rules, but it’s just so humiliating losing a fight to a girl!

Well she did win fairly under the rules, I can’t argue with that. It’s just disappointing to be so ahead on points and then one kick and you’re down, you know 😒 she did come to check on me once I had been given the all-clear by the medics, and I did congratulate her on her win then 👍 it just still sucks losing to a girl.

She won the fight with a full contact front kick to my groin. It’s pretty standard for the on duty medics to check over any competitor once they have taken a knockout blow. It’s just a shame that a good performance and being ahead on points can ultimately mean nothing if you can’t see the fight through to the end 😒

Oh really? Is it like self defense oriented? I didn't know kickboxing allows that kind of blow on the guys

It’s not strictly kickboxing, it’s more like a stand up form of Combat Sambo, but it’s easier to just say kickboxing so people understand. Traditional kickboxing does not allow low blows, no. It’s more attack orientated like boxing, you wear padded grappling gloves, but defensive padding or protection is not worn. I think in any sport it kind of sucks to lose from a strong winning position 😒

That’s exactly how I felt, and still do 😒 but no, I don’t blame her, she won fair and square and was the better fighter in the end.

Yes, that's sad... I would never lose position or get beat down by a woman on a soccer pitch... they can no move as well as I can.

Yes, unless the girls is hot and really badass, for some reason. Otherwise yeah it's shameful.

Well I think it’s fair to say she was “hot”, yes 👍 obviously slim, curvy and fit to compete at such a level, but I still feel a sense of shame and humiliation losing a competitive fight to her 😒
