hi for a while iv'e wanted to get into horse racing can anyone out there help me understand what the odds mean when betting on the horses and how much u would win with the certain amount you put on it thanks?

Betting is quite complicated but you pick it up pretty quick... The most simplest bets are your 2/1, 3/1 where if your horse wins say 5 dollars at 2/1 , you get twice the stake back plus the stake meaning 15. The more favoured horses will have the lower odds so the bookmakers pay out less. That is very simplest form of betting , figure that out and then you see the other nuances of betting. Just be careful of ODDS ON betting where the horse is so favoured say 1/2 , you have to stake 10 to win 5 and get your stake back to make 15.

yeah it is really complicated still so why is the lowedt horse the favourites and why less money to if they mite win i thought if the favourites win u would get more it is muddled up your right yeah so is it best to go for higher like 10-1 or is that bad not go for lower numbers that are favourites
