In another question, I asked why the American woman's team didn't sing the national anthem. A few people pointed out that in America that's normal and both players and fans generally stand in silence.
So I got wondering, if they don't sing the anthem what about other sports stadium songs? In the UK fans will also sing among others songs such Swing Low Sweet Chariot (English), Bread of Heaven (welsh), The Fields of Athenry (Irish).
A quick google taught me that American fans do sing other songs in stadiums so it's not just a European thing.
In high school, Boobslayer went to the football games because his extracurricular activity was studying the cheerleaders when they bounced their bazoombas. A popular song we would sing to intimidate the opponent was 'We Wiill Rock" by Queen.
You stomp your foot on the stadium seat for the bass drum and clap your hand for the snare, much like in this video (it sounds really thunderous and cool).
It will really piss them off to watch us claim dominance over them via this sort of tribal and communal activity.
Fun fact: The song started as a participation song for live shows. Lead singer Freddie Mercury reportedly told the audience to "clap your hands and stomp your feet" and the song was written by the crowd at that moment.
Then at a Red Sox baseball games we have a few songs, the most notable being Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” in the 8th inning. Best part is they cut the volume down on the horns between lines in the hook, and the crowd supplies the noise. “Sweeeeet Caaarrrroliiiiinnnneee…BUH-BUH-BUHHHH!!!…Good tiiiiimessss neverrrrr seemed so goooood…SO GOOD!!! SO GOOD!!! SO GOOD!!!”
Also, after wins, they play a song called “Dirty Water”, an homage to our filthy harbor, lmao. “I love that dirty waterrrrr…. Boston, you’re myyyyy hoooommmmeeeee”
And it’s not in my area, but I’d be remiss to not shout out the Louisiana State University Tigers, who, before the Fun Police put the kibosh on it, used to have their band play a song called “Neck”, and the whole stadium would sing “Heyyyyyyyyy-ooooooohhhhhhh…. SUCK THAT TIGER DICK, BITCH!!!” I wish I could’ve gone to one of their football games back when they still did it. Tell me this isn’t an electric atmosphere…
We sing the National Anthem (louder if at the beginning of a war, so, you know… often) and if its played, “My Country, 'Tis of Thee”, you may be familiar with the tune, God save the Queen… Americans can be such in your face a-holes but that’s who we are at times.
Sweet Caroline is a famous sports song used by several teams and most famously the very successful Penn State football team who almost stopped using it as a pedophile was found on their coaching staff. Singing the lyrics “touching me touching you” became uncomfortable but I think they still use it.
Na-na-hey-hey goodbye is another song used when your team is winning and near the end (remember what I said about Americans). The crowd will sing this one.
Professional soccer teams will have their chants and songs but that is more structured than most American sports fans would have in their stadiums.

That's a UK thing , because the main sports are so dam boring , Soccer and Cricket..
Watching the final round of the British Open last night ( pissing with rain ) , I note that the golf could also do with some singing , rather than just the " party hole " , they should make it into a giant music festival , with music playing non stop , fans taking Amfeds and camping in the rough..
That would be a real sport , instead of the sheer boredom and concerns of sleeping spectators.
It's not traditional to sing along with the national anthem in the US, partially because the singer/performer will often do their own interpretation instead of strictly following the "book standard" performance.
But there are definitely other songs that are normally sung along with by the crowd. At baseball games, in the middle of the 7th Inning, we have the 7th Inning Stretch, where it is customary to stand and sing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game." And a number of sports have adopted "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond as a sing-along anthem. Slightly less common but still popular is for the crowd to sing/chant/hum along to "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes.
So, yes, there are some songs that normally get mass audience participation.
I do, but I can understand why many do not sing the U. S. National Anthem, as it is not an easy song to sing all the way through without going off key for those who are not trained vocalists.
