Are you a good swimmer?
+1 yI mean, obviously it’s important to know how to swim. If for no other reason than to save your own life in the event unlikely, but possible situation where you find yourself in an “unscheduled swim”. By that, I mean some kind of accident wherein you are suddenly in the water. (for example if your car crashes into a body of water, or you slip while walking next to a pool, and fall in!).
If you live in an area where there are lakes, ponds of rivers, please… Learn to swim
I do hope this helps.
Sincerely, Laura. 🤗 🥰00 Reply

No. I don’t think it’s important if you’re not around a large body of water. I can doggie paddle, that’s about it. I stayed “level 1” in school and only made it to “level 2” my last year in elementary. High school swim was a bitch and I failed every year because I stayed in the shallow end and didn’t think it was worth getting my hair wet. The only class I ever had to go to summer school for

Last summer I went 1 month Swimming
Learn to cross 12 meters in 1 breath..
This year April.. I went 1 more month and Built the Breath and swim coordination. And I swam 20-25 Meters while taking multiple breaths and doing different strokes..
Swimming also boosted my Immune System and Healed my Mind.. I love it, and I hope to Become even more better at it, Good enough to swim for 20-30 minutes. Non stop..
My next Target is to learn to Stay afloat without going anywhere!..

@beebella 🐝 Spartan is like a fish in the water. It's funny, I remember HATING swim lessons when I was a young warrior. Being able to swim is now on my growing list of skills my mom forced me to learn (and hated at the time)
-how to do laundry
-how to cook three great tasting nutritious meals
-how to drive a manual transmission
-learn how to swim
Thanks Mom! I love you, and may you rest in peace.10 Reply

m +1 yYes everyone should no the basics in swimming, and importantly how to keep afloat if you need to save your life or someone else’s. People should also be taught about the dangers around swimming.
while it’s great Derek knows how to swim a mile, it’s not if he does not know about ice cold lakes on a hot day and the impact on your body when diving in, or about riptides, underwater junk in rivers etc.10 Reply
+1 yI think it's an important skill Bella. My sisters and I learned when we were kids. My dad thought it was important. When I was in college I worked 2 summers as a lifeguard at the public pool. It was a fun job and I only had to kinda sorta rescue a kid a couple times when they were flailing around. Most of the time I spent enforcing the pool rules and getting a good tan.

+1 ySwimming is a very important skill. What if you should fall overboard when you’re on a boat or ship? I’m a good swimmer and I’ve never had any problems because I took swimming lessons when I was a kid. Besides, you’ll have to learn to swim if you want to join the Coast Guard.

1 yI was an active competitive swimmer "back in the day" but that's not why I'd promote learning to swim.
To me, urging someone to learn how to swim is more because of necessity (for survival, as an example) rather than sport.

00 ReplyIt all depends on where you live. Around here it is important to know how to swim.
10 ReplyOf course. Swimming is a basic ability that we are genetically supposed to be able to do. Just like pulling our own body weight into a tree. The inability to do things like this is basically a disability.
00 ReplyNo and i say this as an amateur swimmer myself. If you're not in the Marines, seals, spending time on a boat, ship or yacht or pursue activities involving swimming, then it doesn't matter.
