Actually, I have learned that Brittney Griner is not a Trans, but she is gay. I was confused when I read she (he) got his girlfriend pregnant. However, it is not Griner's DNA. Nevertheless, she was arrested on drug charges and she did take a knee during our National Anthem. Drug charges aside, showing disrespect for our flag by taking a knee, is enough, in my opinion to ban her from Team USA.

If it includes a man, how is it the women's... oh never mind, the world has gone insane, and I just don't want to hear about this crap anymore! When I was in school, if you were a boy claiming to be a girl (or vice versa) you would have been teased, laughed at and bullied, and it would have been justified, and I say this as someone who was bullied in school.

There are far more important things going on in the world, like the Ukraine War spiraling into an apocalyptic World War 3, and yet people are more focused on rubbish that doesn't even make sense. Wake up!

I'm not sure what parts of the Olympics I'll watch. I usually like the opening ceremonies, and maybe an occasional competition.

It's interesting why Caitln Clark, the most popular name in women's basketball today, was not selected. It's not that she's not skilled, nor that she would bring in more viewers. No, the US selection committee thought her millions of fans would be upset that she would get so few minutes of playing time, given the number of seasoned pros on the team. So, they left her off the team.

I also read, that is the reason but I question if that is the actual reason. Team USA has won 6 straight gold medals and will win another if she is on the team or if she is not; typically by 30 points so she could easily play 15 minutes in most games without the team risking losing.

@AviatorTom Although there may be a short clip after the game, without Caitlin Clark, the games will not be on TV because there are 25 sports going on at the same time and NBC will televise the sports with the most interest and without Clark there is too little interest in women’s basketball.

The WNBA is just like Baton Rouge. The blacks in Baton Rouge hate the whites but they want their money. However, they are losing their money because they wouldn't give the whites what they asked for, so the whites left and formed their own city. Now, without the whites’ money, Baton Rouge is in dire straits and the schools and other services were substandard even with the whites’ money.

The WNBA players hate the Caitlin Clark because she is not one of them. She is not dark enough, she is not lesbian, and she is not covered with ink. The WNBA hate the Caitlin Cark fans. (What do we know about basketball?) However, they want our money but they will lose our money because they are unwilling to give the Clark fans what we want. That is, Caitlin Clark.

I don't care how good the WNBA product is. If I don’t want it, I am not going to buy it. Before, Clark I never watched a WNBA game nor have I ever watch the USA women’s Olympic team. I didn’t want it so I didn’t buy it. Moreover, without Clark, the WNBA will never get anymore of my money. I don't give a hoot if the WNBA call me stupid. If they want my money, give me what I want—Caitlin Clark.

Without our money, there are no more chartered jets and no more sold out arenas. Just like Baton Rouge, without our money, the WNBA will be in dire straits just like they were before Clark when they only survived because they were supported with money from the NBA. Last year, the Indiana Fever would sell 4,000 tickets. This year they average over 17,000 and most games are sold out.

It didn't matter how good the WNBA product is because I wasn't interested. It doesn't do any good to tell Caitlin Clark fans how good the WNBA product is and how much is cost to produce because without Clark, the Clark fans don't want it and their product will not sell.

You're missing my point.
The "product" was of horrible quality before Catlin Clark. And now it's still of horrible quality. Nothing's changed.
She's popular but ultimately she's averaging 16 points per game. I had her beat back in middle school and I only went semi pro.

So it's not about the fact that it's a women's league or the whole uproar about Caitlin's race and religion. I actually like Caitlin she's charismatic she's daring etc...

But the idea of sitting in front of a TV for 2 hours while 10 people run across a court left and right while scoring a point every 6 minutes is just sleep inducing.

And as I said: if you think the WNBA is a snore fest. You should see what other countires women basketball look like. It's not even close. Team USA has this in the bag and it won't even be a fun show.

It makes zero sense from a business and viewership standpoint to leave Clark off the team. It’s an utter fail to make the decision to leave her off. You put her on the team even if you don’t plan to play her much. Because people will watch JUST FOR HER!

The only thing I can think of is some of the veterans were jealous and basically threatened a mutiny if she were selected. That’s the only explanation that makes any sense.
