Is anyone else surprised how much butt cheek the synchronized diving teams are showing?

Not that I’m complaining but in previous years it seemed like there wasn’t a whole lot of cheek showing. I’m wondering if attitudes about sexualizing women’s body has changed. I mean it’s like some teams are wearing thongs.
What are your thoughts?

I never really thought about it but that is kind of surprising. With swimming specifically there's some argument that too much swimwear weighs you down more, which is why even the men generally wear tiny speedos. But I would imagine depending on the sport and country there will be some outfits that are more geared towards sexiness or aesthetics, and others that are more practical..

Women's swim and volleyball uniforms have been getting more and more "thongish" over the last 10 years, and ironically, it is the female coaching staff that's selecting the uniforms. That's why no one is blaming anything on the men - women were put in charge of uniforms for the women decades ago, and it's the women who are sexualizing the women.

Swimsuits have trended more cheeky in years. It dosent surprise me that the most fit athletes in the works follow the trend

This is nothing really new. I am a bit surprised though. I hear that some of the teams are wearing full-body swimsuits and gymnastics leotards at the Olympics, to downplay gawking at the female body.

The leotards and suits don't seem to be as conservative as they were previously. The girls also don't seem to adjust them after they move so we just see them not fully centered more often.

nope, ratings are ratings and big money.
So less swimsuit means more money.
