This is a multi-degree black belt teaching Sunsu kata bunkai for self defense. This is Grand Master Shimabuku's personal kata, which is supposedly the most advanced empty hand kata in Isshinryu karate. Note the hyper-extended opponent's elbow, and then the reverse elbow to the opponent's kidney. This would probably end an MMA fight in one maneuver, and it will certainly end any street fight.

There's more than one interpretation of this sequence in the kata, but they are all devastating, and some of them are banned in MMA.

I think you should think very carefully about how much interest you are getting from people on gag regarding this topic. It doesn't seem to be all that popular. It seems to involve a great deal of violence and violent rhetoric and for that reason may not be as popular as you might otherwise assume. Perhaps you could pick a gentler or more interesting topic for the rest of us to read about.
When you get in a street self defense situation, your attacker doesn't give a damn what you think. They are out to rob, rape, or even kill you.
Thish is not meant to be a fun topic and I don't find it "amusing".
When I was in school, I was bullied ALL THE TIME by older boys and my family put me in karate class so I could learn to kick the shit out of the guys who kept bullying me.
It worked.
I don't find it funny or amusing. This is VERY SERIOUS to me. My sister had to defend herself against a high school senior football player who kept harassing her sexually at school, and she beat him because she was a purple belt at the time.

If anyone on here watches any of Michael Calandra's bunkai videos, let me explain how full-speed combat karate and combat judo throws work. If you do a full speed combat throw on an opponent, it breaks their wrist or hyper-extends the elbow, or dislocates the shoulder. If you are throwing them by the foot or leg instead, it can break their ankle, dislocate a knee or hip, etc.
In these films, the throws are done at "demonstration speed". Even then, the partner needs years of training in "how to fall correctly" to avoid being injured by the "demonstration speed" version of the throws.
Some of these throws are banned in MMA under the "intentionally injuring your opponent" rule.

People don't learn this stuff for self defence. They learn it so they can live out their fantasies of hurting other people simply because they can. It's rooted in feelings of social and sexual inadequacy. Victims are never criminal attackers but simple bystander who just look at them the wrong way.
@purplepoppy That has literally never happened in the entire history of Isshinryu karate. We've had women survive gang rape scenarios and beat up both male attackers.
My sister defended herself from a sexual predator in high school, and I've never been bullied again since i got a Brown Belt and above.
@purplepoppy You're not allowed to join an isshinryu dojo nor American Martial Arts association partner dojo if you have a felony or misdemeanor on your record. If you commit a felony or misdemeanor you are expelled immediately from both the Isshynryu World Karate Association and the American Martial Arts Association.
@purplepoppy Grand Master Advincula was a Medal of Valor winner and a Purple Heart winner in the Vietnam War, and He got six Gold Stars for good behavior and other congressional medals and awards. He founded the Marine Corps Martial Arts program , and the Marines actually got in FEWER bar room brawls after joining Okinawan Martial arts programs, because they learned to respect one another's personhood and abilities more.
@purplepoppy All of my instructors and assistant instructors were either retired Marines or Police officers or both. Grand Master Calandra is also a retired Police Officer who used Isshinryu and other martial arts to help apprehend criminals without permanently harming them.
@purplepoppy The reason we drill so damn much is because real self defense scenarios are unpredictable, and you need to drill hundreds of scenarios for thousands of hours in order to have an adequate chance to defend yourself against every possible outcome.

@purplepoppy When I was in the 8th grade, I eye-witnessed a gang of evil boys beat the hell out of another boy just because he was poor and different, and they were armed with CANE POLES which they harvested from a cane forest growing behind the school. The Teachers and Principal did NOTHING to stop this from happening, and not even one of the boys involved in mercilessly beating him was ever punished.
