I'm not a huge baseball fan but I do know this has been a hot topic for years! What are your thoughts? It's good for his family but unfortunately, Pete is dead!

I don’t like this decision since in 1980s, he was banned from MLB because of a ‘little’ gambling scandal involving sports betting on his own team…

It doesn’t stop there from statutory rape allegations, corking his bat , going to prison for tax evasion , and of course the sports betting scandal which he allegedly admitted to in a book he wrote I just don’t think he is worthy of being in the Baseball Hall of Fame since he is a disgrace to the sport.

I don't know just my opinion , like we can make an argument for OJ Simpson being in American Football Hall of Fame since those things happened before the whole murder stuff though corking his bat, illegal sports betting, and getting banned from MLB as a whole is his sports career so it should be held to that standard. He doesn’t belong.

Well I think it's funny how MLB is reporting it. The commissioner said, "you become eligible when you die". While he was alive he still could've affected the outcome of games. Which is kind of stupid. The commissioner clearly just decided it. And not letting Rose know he was going to be eligible before he died was his punishment.

I think what's going to be interesting is the NEXT TIME a player gets hit with a lifetime ban. Because up till now if you got hit with a lifetime ban you COULDN'T get in. But now players know posthumous now they still qualify (they'll just never see it). So the precedence has been set. The question is whether the commissioner did this just for Pete Rose (I know officially he didn't do it that way). Or whether they'll reneg on this with future cases.

Every Rose has it's thorn. I think it's appropriate, he was Mr Baseball and should be included. Turn his mistake into a positive and move on.  did it after he died... very sad.
