Pete Rose played for the Cincinnati Reds and is the all-time leader in hits in the history of Major League Baseball. That statistic alone makes him an easy choice into the Baseball Hall of Fame. However, because he admitted to betting on baseball games, he was never allowed into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY.

Pete Rose recently died at the age of 83.

The cheating scandal does not negate the accomplishments that he accrued before his gambling was publicized. This is a very early example of cancel culture and it is stupid. You can honor a person's accomplishments in one sphere of their life without endorsing or excusing things that they did in other areas.

No, and she shouldn't. Rule #1 of baseball is don't bet on baseball. Gambling on the sport almost killed the game during the Black Sox Scandal. And Rose admitted that he bet on his own team. Another rule of baseball is if you are banned from the league, you can't be in the Hall of Fame. Rose is not above the rules.
