Caitlin Clark is treated worse not because white people are treated worse than black people but because women are more racist than men. You can even see it in dating. Women are much less likely to date outside their race although interracial dating is happenning much more than ever. Women also tend to be way pettier/jealous when it comes to another women's success.

In the male basketball community, black men are literally in full admiration of white players like Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic.

There will always be haters though. Jeremy Lin barely received an opportunity in 2012 and there really is no other reason aside from the fact that he's Asian considering he was the Cali player of the year in HS and literally dominated in college. Some say it is because he played in the Ivy League but there have been ivy league players in the NBA before and none of them had Jeremy's resume of being top 10 in every major statiscal category. He even had the fastest sprint time tied with the number 1 pick in the draft, John Wall but whenever John took the floor, they said he was super quick. When Jeremy took the floor, he was called deceptively quick. That being said when Jeremy finally received his opportunity to shine, he became a megastar. I think the racism towards him was mostly because they haven't seen an Asian American guard play like that. Also because Asians are seen as timid and weak.

In the case of the WNBA, it seems like the hate is mostly from pure jealousy and the fear of the unknown. The WNBA is changing so much because of Caitlin Clark

If there’s any reasonable resentment, it’s maybe more based upon the WNBA existing for like 25 years, but everyone mocked it until a white superstar emerged. And I don’t know that that’s necessarily accurate, Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi have been stars too.

I think the three-pointers have really caught the world by storm the last ten years since Steph Curry showed up. You used to get yelled at by the coach for always launching threes, now it’s accepted and expected.

Caitlin Clark is basically the WNBA Steph Curry, she’s a three-point specialist. That’s what’s hot in the streets right now. Angel Reese is a totally different type of player, she lives in the paint. I don’t follow it enough to give a full assessment and comparison, but I think Angel Reese is looking for attention, and I’m not sure she’s quite as good at what she does vs how good Clark is at her specific role.

It’s just tough to compare a shooter vs someone who plays down low and is a long-body. It might be fair to say Caitlin Clark has more of a specialized skill whereas a lot of Reese’s game comes down to her size. We live in the Instagram era, so this could be as much about likes and follows as it is about basketball skills, haha.

I think a lot of WNBA players are just kinda like “ok, so NOW you want to pay attention?” But I think a women’s professional sports league is up against it, so just take the attention and hope to gain some new fans, whether you love or hate any particular player
