A navel (belly button) is essentially the scar left after the umbilical cord falls off a baby. An innie is a navel that goes inward, creating a small divot, while an outie protrudes slightly.

Check out the picture. All navels that you can see are innies.

Which leads to a fun question:

Do all Cheerleaders have innies? Is it a requirement?

So statistically 90% will have innies but for uniformity with say the Dallas Cheerleaders as pictured, where “look” is everything, then likely 100% “innies”.

And we do love the Dallas Cheerleaders… Mmmmm. They just got a raise. They make like $8 an hour but get the bragging rights.

@Jersey2 From what I recently read (where the picture came from), the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders just got a 400% pay raise, from $15/hour to $60/hour.

I had a friend in college who was an Eagles cheerleader. She got $50/game and zero for practice.

@TrueConfection That’s too low. They are working and should get more. But they also do it for the bragging rights but still, they are working hard so they should be compensated.

I agree that is too low. That was 25 years ago and I thought their compensation would go up. She (and others I assume) was a ballet dancer and that doesn’t pay much either. The cheerleading was a side hustle. Believe it or not, she wasn’t a bragger. She was rare!

Practically - ''cheer leaders'' are not part of my own culture. That's why ''we'' pay more attention on a girl's overall qualities. Which of course also includes her physical appearance - just: not only.

The ones that lead my own cheers all had innies as far as I can recall.

I have never seen an outie on anyone. So I am figuring that the process of the cord dropping off and shrinking back in leaves almost everybody with an innie.
