Not really. I’ve done it once in a wave pool at a water park with a bit of coaching from a kid who made it look really easy. I surprised myself with how well i did, but it was clear to me that i would need a lot of practice before i could surf a respectable wave on open water.
I really enjoy watching the pros and the adrenaline junkies on the massive, killer waves. The stones they must have!

No, I'm not a fan of water in general. I did grow up in Florida and spent a lot of time on beaches, I just didn't go in the water. Where I lived really wasn't known for good surfing anyway.

Dear Lord! That's another reason lol not so much sharks but jellyfish! There were a couple times grown men would come out of the ocean crying because they were stung! They hurt! I would feel so sorry for them, because there really isn't anything you can do for the pain.

@NordicInScandinavia Went to surfing school ages ago and learned to lie on the board and surf. It's incredibly difficult. Have to have a lot of stuff on the ball. Balance, footwork, popping up from a lying position to standing.

I was glad I learned anything. I'd like to try again, though. Fascinating stuff.
