Those Americans who are immigrants or children of immigrants will likely still care because they were never really for the USA anyway but the countries of their origin.

Also, Americans who actually care about soccer.

For most Americans who follow sports, the WNBA is on as is MLB with the All-Star Game being a week from today. Also, NFL training camp starts in 2 weeks, so football - real football, not "football", both NFL and college - is on the minds of hard-core American sports fans.

i was following portugal. i was surprised we succeeded so much!

turns out we are #1 in mix!
america won bosnia with 2 goals enough to also win germany's paraguay loss too! we were the only non-europe to win Europe! this is fabulous considering
teams with european players, won 8 matches to advance to quarter pounder.
in 16 round they won all 6 mixed matches. in 32 round they won 4 mixed matches and only lost to each other! but!
only 2 Europe lost mix! like in 2022 world cup only one lost mix! and we won both bosnia and germany as above. the only mix winner!

I was trying to get into it but it never really happened. Most games put me to sleep. My son says he's still going to watch, I think he will.

Interest will definitely drop a bit now that the US is out, that always happens 🇺🇸⚽

But a solid core of American fans still follows the World Cup all the way through, especially big matches like semifinals and the final. Casual viewers tune out, but real soccer fans stay locked in, just like tennis fans still watch Grand Slams even when their favorite player loses 🎾
