FIFA is a disgrace for soccer. There is UEFA cup all 4 years and there are often questionable referee decisions as well, but in those games there is far much more transparency. video analysis after referee decision and showing what happened to public. It's 2026 and every action is observed at least by 10 8k Cameras. If a player touches a ball with hand there is now way it's not visible on video review.
FIFA games are always highly dubious and some games are obviously staged or rigged
All football.. is, and goes the same for other alike it varies a lot and gets less so in ways but its ran by the rich? And has gambling incentives? Now do you really think that's all clean and fair? Not ya know fudged in someway that benefits those rich? Its fudged in several ways I'm certain. My friend when we're 12 would swear on wrestling not being fake he eventually conceded and then swore on football I said to him along the lines of 'I have bad news for you' each do have real professionals who do put work into being fit for the role though.
I will never really understand why anyone likes it if they understand this and even more so it further proves humanity still needs to get way smarter cause a lot don't see this somehow
There’s no denying that there was some corruption in broad daylight, mostly in favor of Argentina and the US. Now there are Argentinians saying the final was rigged for Spain but tbh Spain was the far superior team. They didn’t need to rig anything to win, they were the best team in the tournament and Argentina should have been eliminated much sooner, which is why Spain dominated in the final. But Argentina fans are saying that Argentina let the Spanish team win, when Argentina didn’t even have the footballing level needed for a final to begin with.
This is same guy who invented an award to give to Trump to pacify him and suck up after he was rightly and obviously snubbed by the Nobel committee. Then he pulled that stunt to get the U. S. player’s red card and one-game suspension overturned for Trump, which seemed like it had been a bad call, but sports are impacted and decided by bad calls all the time; that’s just the way it’s supposed to go.
I don’t really know anything else about this guy, Infantino, or something like that. But the two times I’ve heard his name, it’s been for incredibly dumb shit. And it sounds like the UEFA governing body was up in arms about the World Cup antics too, so I’d wager this was as crazy at it seems to the soccer laypeople of America.
I think sports are hard to fix reliably. But this guy seems crooked as a stick, and I wouldn’t put it past him
The sport section in our newspapers is dominated by rugby, we've hardly any professional teams, we didn't even qualify. BUT we were the first nation to publicly denounce infantino. Now given our unofficial motto is "Let's not kick up a fuss" I suspect those in the know have information it was fixed and it's more than disgruntled fans.
Pro sports- of darn near any kind- just makes me ill these days. Whether it's obvious fouls, missed calls, 500 camera angles and re-calls, XY's trying to pass as XX's, or just high-tech golf clubs that make 300 yard drives look like they are slacking off, I just don't have the interest in this any more.
My guess is it is just as likely as not. But the better question in my opinion is... why does FIFA need to exist? They are nothing but a leech organization profiting off the sport and providing no benefit. Get rid of them and run the thing from within with the intent of fair play and keeping the sport affordable for spectators.
The officiating was rubbish at times, but I don't think it was fixed
nope...
not even AI slop agrees to it
I have no idea, but given that I really do not care about soccer or sports in general, I also don't care. The American economy is so fixed at this point that nothing else like that matters.
To a degree, yes. Favours were certainly done for the US and Argentina.
Video was TL;DW.
It's unlikely but so much money means it's very possible
hahahahh most professional sporting events are rigged.
The fact that Argentina reached by the final by beating Cabo Verde, Egipt, Switzerland and England suggests the ladder was fixed.
Only when Trump intervened and let them not red flag one of our players
I started to think it was rigged in the US team's favour, but then thankfully they were knocked out. I think Spain deserved it.
@Xoirwinkan those riggers certainly rig enough! Shame! They need to learn how to rig efficiently!!
@FrodoSkywalker007 Haa
An attempt to fix it for Argentina for sure.
No. Soccer fans like to whine. It's their specialty.
Likely. FIFA's a nest of grifting bigwigs, which is the major reason I didn't watch the 2026 Men's World Cup.
No. Next question?
I don't think so
FIFA is always fixed.
Ja, ja!!
Nope 🤷♀️
