In French it is "volant" (not "volante", which would be something female "flying") which may remind of a steering wheel indeed, but actually can also be a form of the verb "voler" (to fly, and in other circumstances, "to steal" ;0)
"Le volant" can thus be translated by "the flying". Feathers and flying, that makes sense, doesn't it?
To answer the question, I like "gwennol", but I guess "shuttle" would be internationally more practical. In Dutch it seems to be "shuttle", and I wonder why not "pluim" (feather)...
It's a common word across the UK. Coc is probably more common in Wales where it's usually used more humorously than vulgar but I think knob is better because its more family friendly across the whole of the UK and easier to put in a sentence.
There's no k in welsh, no silent letters you pronounce everything phonetically and if you can't spell a word or speak welsh just make it up the same way
I had to look at it better that’s for badminton. It’s a real light game you do at your house in the backyard. I played that before with my neighbor when I was a teenager it’s not a real big deal. I guess it’s a fair game. An easy game
