Can Googe Apps for Edu admins see browsing history?

I had an inappropriate browsing session whilst (unknowingly) signed into my school gsuite account. To what extent can the IT technicians monitor my account if I was on my own device?

On my schools website it says ‘All internet actions through your gsuite account can be seen and monitored’ However after some research, many people have said that even the highest admins don’t have the option to view a users browsing history. So you do think my school just wrote that on the code of conduct to make the users scared? Or is there some other way they can track...
Also I was not on the schools network.

You'll be ok. If they didn't catch it while you were browsing, they won't catch it unless they actively go look for it.

If they tried to look for it, how would they find it if there isn’t an option on the admin panel to see a users browsing history? Surely they can only see a users history on a school controlled device or if somebody was browsing through the schools network..

Exactly, they can access your account on a school device to look through your history. But they have no reason to do so. So you're ok.

If you were using your own device and not on the school internet connection there's no record for the IT people to follow.

It's only a legal note. I have such a note popping up every half an hour, saying I mustn't use the access point for downloading or spreading illegal stuff.

There isn’t an option for admins, on a google apps for education account, to see a users browsing history. Is there some other way they could track a user down?

Why would they try to track down?

Maybe they do regular check ups on each students browsing history to make sure they haven’t been doing anything inappropriate. I really just want to make sure that there is no possible way for the technicians to see. Who knows what situation might come up.
