The most logical yet unlogical explanation is that someone who's gay but is also your friend has been searching for gay things when you account of Google play was active, like opening gmail in a random computer and the next guy turns out to be looking for gay porn, or something like that remember that those ads are based in your web history so you probably want to check if someone uses your computer on someone has linked your gmail account to their phones

Hmm then the only thing I can suggest you is hit the small (x) to close ad everytime it comes out the one that's on the corner of the ad, it should then give you a small menu of options of why you don't like the ad,

After a few hours the ads should stop appearing in your screen
