Facebook green dot but active 2 minutes ago?

Why if I click on a persons messenger on Facebook they still have a green dot but says 'active 1m ago' or even 2 3 4 minutes ago?

what does this mean?

i have seen a person come 'online' then I click there name and it says 'active now' then I click again it goes to 'active 1m ago' and so on.

anyone shed any light?

My girls phone does the same thing.. I can't quite tell if she is absolutely brilliant with technology and plays dumb.. or if her phone really does just do weird and shady shit coincidentally.. if that's the case.. then I've dated 3 women that's phones seem to have major malfunction issues

I have this issues every time I went online. And this problem made me angry on someone that I texted to. Hehe. Thanks to Facebook making our friendship getting more difficult.
