I hate the idea of cellphones. Never had one to begin with.

Every chance I get. The cellphone is like a mailman who comes barging into your house, shoves your mail in your face, demands that you open it, and who then stands there impatiently tapping his foot until you do.
For whatever conveniences that it brings - and by the way, I stopped my electronic evolution at the "flip phone" - the cell phone is the bane of human existence. It satiates the human impulse for instant gratification without requiring thinking before expression.
Once upon a time, a phone might have been in a person's living room or kitchen. Unless it was an emergency, you knew it was bad manners to call before 9 in the morning or after 8:30 at night.
Now, you never know when to call. More to the point, you never know what you will be interrupting when you do.
In my mind's eye, I picture a friend or colleague being at a wedding and I call him. He has left his phone on - either by accident or, like you, by design - and my call comes through and the phone rings right the second after the minister says, "If anyone here can see any reason why these two people should not be joined in the holy bond of matrimony, let him speak NOW or forever hold his peace."
The phone rings. The wedding ends in a divorce before the marriage even begins. All because the phone hunts us down like a predatory animal in the state of nature.
So, suffice to say, few things give me greater joy in life than looking down and seeing the phone, silent and dark. I imagine all the calls I missed and I sink joyfully into my favorite chair and read a book. No jumping at the sound of a bell/ring tone.
Sheeesh! Ring tone. Real phones have bells.
As you can tell, I don't have strong opinions on this topic. (Oh, and yes, my girlfriend is rolling her eyes as she reads this.)I turn it off whenever I feel like I’m stressing over it too much. If I don’t get a text, or I’m angry and don’t want to receive and notifications. I turn it off for a while. It’s funny though, whenever I turn it off, that’s when I get the most notifications.
It is off (airplane mode) whenever I am in college. From the minute I enter the building until I get out except for breaks.
It is also off (not just on vibration or on airplane mode) when I do my homework.
My cell phone is solely used for voice calls and basic texting and strictly nothing else. I am a total anti-cell phone and social media person and my only link to the outside world is GAG.It stays on. I actually just turn off alerts because waking up at 5am to scary sounding amber alerts sucks XD
I will put it on airplane mode when I don't want to take calls, but it would be very rare for me to shut it off.
I use my phone for my business so I can't really just turn it off at will, but on my one day off, I turn off notifications and try not to check it for any reason so I can unplug and enjoy world outside of screens for a few glorious hours.

Every single night.
Put the kids to bed at 8 turn off phone and cuddle up with my husband for a bit of Netflix. I let the battery run all the way down and then charge it while it's off
If I'm somewhere that would be really inconvenient for it to go fof then yes I turn my phone off occasionally.
It goes on "Do Not Disturb" when I sleep and from time-to-time I restart it. I'll turn it off if I fly on a plane or in other instances where it is required to be completely off.
I turn mine off every night. And when it needs charged.
Sure, when the battery's low and before I go to bed.
Very rarely. Started trying to dl it at work, to keep away from phone, but not been very disciplined.
When I go to church, I pull it to pieces, if someone is about to say something sensitive, or incriminating, I pull it to pieces, if the battery is low I pull it to pieces.
I restart it because it needs to like a computer. I don't turn it off though
Hmm, except for exams my phone only goes off when the battery is empty 😂
Very rarely turn it off. I just put airplane mode on so I can still use my phone to do other things like go on the internet or listen to music
I turm off lot of times.
