Looks good. My dad has a similar setup. Some place the external monitor above the laptop.
The set-up is great but the desk is too cluttered and wouldn't work for me.
Not that cluttered for me. I like the feeling of everything in close together.
Why is the laptop open?
Because my monitor is running my laptop screen and my fan vent is made under the hinge. And if I close it that means not enough air will come out out and could cause over heating. Why does it matter?
Your monitor is running the laptop screen, or is your laptop running your monitor screen?
Why does it matter? Because you asked the question on GAG and I'm very concerned.
very concerned about what?
People have other setups with their laptops open and screen off. Nothing new.
And it’s what I said, my monitor is running my laptops screen. Meaning it’s showing my laptops screen.
Ohhhhhhhh, that makes more sense. I wouldn't use the word "running" because the doesn't make sense. I'd say, "my laptop is projecting onto my monitor screen."
Where I work I've seen people with docking stations, and I thought it was a great idea. Their laptops just function as the brain. They use a full size keyboard, mouse and monitor, then at night they take the laptop home.
I just wondered why your laptop was open, but you explained the heat problem.
Running has different meanings. But yea it could potentially overheat if I closed the lid and it wasn’t able to let out enough air.
The only reason your setup bothers me, is because I didn't like that the monitor was off to the right. That would drive me crazy. I was thinking that the laptop could be closed, and the monitor could be set on top.
When I lived in Thailand I set my laptop on a fan that was made for that. It plugged into the USB port. I learned that trick from a guy who owned an outdoor bar. I saw he had one, and I asked him what it was. He explained that since Thailand is hot a fuck, everyone puts their laptops on fans. I bought one the next day for a few bucks, because I didn't want to fry my puter.
Sitting a monitor on top of a laptop could damage or break that laptops screen... and yes I know about external laptop fans.

Yes i like the set up and i like the huge desktop computer very nice.
Love it how you made a dual display for gaming I guess
I use it for coding, digital art and gaming.
Really cause I have a project for unlimited data storage
Nice work
Thanks
Yes that's cool
Thanks 👍🏻
How much did all that cost?
No there's too much stuff
Only to a minimalist. I wouldn’t call that too much stuff.
I am a minimalist
No. There is no space for a coffee mug
I don’t eat or drink near my electronics.
That must be a dull life 😘
Probably to a dare devil.
😁That may be. Heh heh.
And there is enough space for a coffee mug and several other stuff. Just just looks small on camera.
We all do. More or less
Why not pc tho
That is a PC.
A desktop?
why is your laptop screen off?
Because my monitor is running my laptop screen and my fan vent is made under the hinge. And if I close it that means not enough air will come out out and could cause over heating. Why does it matter?
well if you have 2 screens why do you not use one of them xD what a waste.
i did the rainmeter thing too before. got annoying over time though.
People set them up differently dumbass.
Good for you
And it’s not a waste. I just like having one screen on. 🤣🤣🤣
calling people a dumbass for pointing out that you have unused hardware. good for you. what a great guy. guess going anonymous online not having to fear a punch in the face makes people show their true ugly character huh?
It’s not unused hardware retard. I use my laptop screen when I go out. You think you’re a know it all but you’re really an assuming idiot.
