I struggle with this more than you’d think lmao. I don’t like headphones just because the only thing I even use headphones for is to listen to music while I work out, I literally have no other purpose for them. I don’t feel like they block out noise enough for me, plus it’s bulky and probably problematic for anything vigorous, like box jumps and that kinda shit.

I much prefer earphones, but it’s gotta be the rubber type, I can’t really fuck with the air pod style ones that are similar to the cheap wired ones that used to come with iPhones (haven’t upgraded to the jack-less newer phone yet, I figure they don’t give those earphones with them anymore). Problem there is they fall out way too easily if it’s not the rubber kind. I need something to literally plug into my earholes that will stay there until I purposely pull them out. Even the rubber ones don’t hold that well once I get to sweating, but they’re the best option I’ve come up with. I bought wireless ones, which prefer in theory, but the ones I got don’t quite have a piece to fit and stay into my ear, I’m kind of a ‘tweener, one size is too big, the next one down is too small. Then it’s compounded by the weight of the side with the little plastic part that has the controls, that starts swinging with exercise and it pulls one side out. I’m STRUGGLIN’, lmao.

Wired circumaural (around-the-ear) headphones. Earphones are terrible health-wise - they cause swelling in your ears if you wear them too much, amongst other things. They aren't comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Only circumaural headphones are comfortable when worn for (relatively) long periods of time. I'll wear them in public as I don't really care if someone thinks it looks silly. And I like wired because the sound quality is still better, and I don't want to have to charge headphones. What's next, having to charge a pencil?

I like to use headphones at home and earphones when I am out somewhere. I like the wired ones more for some reason, never been a big fan for wireless.

It all depends on the usage.

If I'm just casually listening to music on my phone, I've likely got wireless ear buds. If I'm REALLY listening to music (such as if I'm mixing), then I'm almost certainly wearing my good headphones - some very high-end over-ear Sony headphones from the early 90s that sound amazing. If I'm DJing, I've got a much cheaper pair of over-ear headphones that are very sensitive, so they are louder than average when plugged into my console, which is important in that environment when you need to hear the music you are cuing up.

Wireless headphones. Far better sound and noise cancelling quality, usually more durable, much harder to lose. Only downside is storage size when packing.

I hate earbuds. I'll deal with them if I have to but would almost rather go without anything than use them.

Earbuds when I'm mobile/traveling. I see folks with over-the-ear headphones on planes and such; that's too bulky for my taste.

When I'm at home or the office, though, I like regular headphones. I'm using a Sennheiser HD 280 Pro right now.

And i prefer wireless astro a50’s for gaming

And if i need better sound like a plane or train ill use sound isolating earbuds or headphones. Professional grade audiophile junkies lol

Wired is for people who can afford the wire, wireless is for the poor who can't afford the wire, get rekt air pod users, also head phones are bigger then ear phones but their more comfortable, they also make you look like a gamer.

Well over ear headphones give the best sound in my opinion, but they look a bit weird and they ruin my hair, so I will have to choose earphones. Wired, because else I would definitely lose them😂

Overheard sound more crisps because you got the a better envelope of sound from every angle. And so you get a more complete sound.

Earbuds give you a more direct sound, but since there isn't a lot of space, you probably won't get a very big frequency range. So it can be misleading.

However, overheads are bulky and earbuds are more discreet.

Overall, I would go with overheads because I love to hear everything in the frequency spectrum.
