Why are there so many scammers on the internet?

They have nothing better to do with their life.. I'll share something with you I have McAfee security software with them and I have an Amazon account and what bothers
I use the same email for both of these companies and sure enough, I keep getting scammer emails for these services also I get scammer emails for Norton the same exact scammer emails this pisses me off cause I know that these companies sold my email to these scammers almost all the time the emails are from individuals but they are fake emails telling me I was charged for their services they gave me but there is
one guy about 33 years old on YouTube and his channel is Scammer Payback and
he is a legit guy who brings these scammers to justice and he gets justice with many
scammers so if you get a chance look him up, I follow Scammer Payback, and he
is a great guy and made his channel cause his mother was a victim of being scammed
I wish I knew why they do this to people

Why are there so many scammers on the internet? Because there are so many gullible people on the internet.

My guesses:
1. There's a certain percentage of the population who are criminals. It's always going to be that way.
2. 'Desperate times call for desperate measures.' Which is sometimes just a way to justify doing terrible things. Because then you could get into a debate about just what qualifies as 'desperate.'
3. The more anonymity exists, the worse peoples' behaviour. Also, the less accountability people are willing to take on. The internet distances people, thereby taking away our humanity (well, soooome people's.)
4. Opportunists. Low-morality people look to scam and cheat others, and the internet is the most efficient way to do so.
5. And I bet there's a bit of 'stick it to 'em' - some other person, country, culture. They might not steal from their own, but they have no qualms about targeting others who live farther away and are 'not one of me/us.' Also a horrible, bigoted way to look at the world.

The internet sadly has made it very easy for others to try to rip off people. Before you had phone scams, newspaper scams, etc. Once the internet started booming in the 90s and early 2000s, now everybody is finding a way to get over it. Even by companies we often considered reputatable. More people are desperate than ever.

The Internet certainly has it share such as those commenting in comments how they make $2000 a week etc. If there were the case they wouldn't be busy in the comments wasting their time telling others about it. They'd be busy making $2000 a week instead.

The internet is like the Wild West. There is very little regulation and people from foreign countries can scam people without fear of arrest. It is like ringing the dinner bell for theives.

I guess because, as long as there are those that will click on damn near anything, scammers will make it look like they are providing JUST what you want.

I think it's because people think they can do anything online without facing any consequence. They think they will never get caught. Plus, it's easier to lie behind a screen.
