Electric car key broken from water damage. If I get a new circuit board and get it programmed to the car, will that work? Or can it still be broken?

I guess you will have some electrical issues, if the computer system is damaged it will cost you a lot

My car itself is ok, the key has major water damage and stopped working completely

New Batteries etc did not work

They said they should be able to fix it with a new circuit board and program it to work with my car. What do you think?

If they said they can fix it then you should have a warranty on it

Its out of the warranty/guarantee so not covered anymorr

So guess what they put a new circuit board in and tried to reprogram it and it wasn't responding

So Instead they reprogrammed a substitute remote key that they created that is not the brand of my car but it works and It responds to my car. I have requested an original remote key so they've ordered one and its really expensive. Why did my key not respond? Why was a new circuit board not enough?
