I Can't Disable Safe Search on Google or Bing. Can Anybody Help?

I hate to ask this as I have always considered myself technically skilled (I used to have Microsoft MCSE qualifications many years ago) but I cannot seem to disable Safe Search on Google or Bing on my laptop. I am in the UK, I use BT as my ISP and my computers are all Running Windows 10 and/or Windows 11.

Bing it tells me "Your country or region requires a strict Bing SafeSearch setting, which filters out results that might return adult content. If you're seeing adult content, tell us about it so we can filter it in the future. To learn more about SafeSearch requirements in your country or region, see How Bing delivers search results."

Google tells me "You don't have permission to turn SafeSearch off. It's locked by the device or network that you are browsing on."

I figured it out. The browsers were all signed into my profile, when I tried a different browser that wasn't linked to a profile it worked fine. if I signed out of the browsers they then worked.

Looks like a lot of this is down to restrictions in the UK. I cannot use Google or Bing to search for risqué content so I have switched to DuckDuckGo which doesn't have those restrictions.

Going to need to hear from a nerd in your country. I sounds like Bing is responding to a requirement by your country to keep safe search on, and their software prevents you changing it. You might give Yahoo a try for searching. And possible getting a VPN to another country may get around it. I am not an expert on this, but those are the thoughts I have.

use Chrome with the Bing search engine for safe search settings it works believe me

safe search settings only work when you use a different browser (for example Chrome with the Bing search engine which lets you choose which safe search settings you want to apply on your search engine). it even works on the windows 10 education edition on chrome using the Bing search engine. it does not always work when using Chrome with the Google search engine as it does not let you change these safe search settings so you need to use chrome not Microsoft edge or Google. if you use chrome with the google search engine it will only unlock at night time and not during the day so its better to switch your search engine to Bing which is a recommended website that is.

Go to settings on Google and disable your Explicit Settings

it might not work on the google app even if you're using wifi. I've tried it and it does not work unless you want to wait until night time until you fid the chance to unlock safe search. if youve read my reply i recommend to use chrome with the Bing search engine and not the Google search engine
