Why are people on reddit often obsessed with interracial relationship and promotion of gay couples in media?

Been seeing this trend/pattern for like 8 years so far on reddit, with people often wanting more gay couples and pairing of interracial relationship on tv/movies. Why is it people on reddit like this so much?

Generally speaking, you want your couples in advertisements to resemble your target audience, to sell them a "this could be you" message. This is why "woke" ads are pretty much unanimously chastised and usually backfire at least until people forget about them.

Most people don't notice or care about "interracial couples" until you saturate it. They're a dime a dozen especially in the south or around military bases and college towns. I don't remember what the ad was for, because like so many woke ads the content had basically nothing to do with the company or product, but it featured what was supposed to be a large family except there is no way in hell those kids were related. It would've made for a decent pro-life or pro-adoption message, ironically enough, but instead it was probably a bank or jeans or something along those lines.

For gay ads, it's pretty much the same thing- it's the virtue signaling flavor of the day especially during pride month. It's by far the most overrepresented demographic in the country considering they make up around 2% of the population but 15-25% of characters in entertainment media with a surprisingly large chunk of them being in shows intended for young kids though, so it's not hard to see why people are pretty sick of it at this point.

Since when did people ever give a shit about what goes on in the media anyways. There are literally rappers that beat women and their dumbass fans will bail them out of jail and your issue is with gay and interracial couples 🤨

They're probably coping.
Some men who probably hate gay couples are most likely closest gay men themselves.
And ones who hate interracial couples are most likely into race outside their own.
Anything you strongly hate for no reason its a coping technique they use.

Like a White guy can say he hates Black people, but it can be for many coping reasons like hearing stories of them having bigger penises, dominating music, being great with women and in bed. So they project these insecurities onto Black people. Racist people secretly are obsessed and have a fetish with the targeted race.
