Black female here dating a white man, and yes, interracial relationships are still frowned upon by lots of ignorant, racists people. It's the 21st century and we're still making a big deal over interracial dating, that's pathetic and says a lot about the state of our society as a whole.

Though me and my boyfriend have learned to ignore it, people stare at us. I've had people tell me I need to, "date one of my own," or move to another state because people around here don't appreciate our kind of relationship.

Which is ironic because no one bats an eye when a black man dates outside his race around here; it's very common to see! But if a black woman dates outside her race, she's considered a sellout to her race.

And I've seen plenty of people on this site against it too! Read some of these comments if you don't believe me 🤦🏿‍♀️

Overall I think people are bothered by what's different to them. Interracial couples are just "couples" to me! Race should have nothing to do with it. Until we change how we view others, there will always be racists in the world.

I have never dated outside my race. It is also a preference. Just like I know many people and have heard from many other races that they prefer to date their own race as well. Some people don't mind dating interracial or even marriage with another race. In other countries outside the United States, I learned skin color is not the factor of the race so much as the region of where you live. And there are bigger issues of having interracial relationships throughout the world. It is a cultural world issue. It is a family preference and to keep peace within communities. No one is ever saying other races cannot join but to marry in, yes is culturally hard. So when the "racism" word and other situations are put up for discussion it isn't one sided and it isn't actually a outside the family issue. It is the family's issue and the two people in love knew both parties would have issues. Equality is never going to happen in this world and especially in the united states. Acceptance of two different worlds coming together is never easy.

If I grow up in a wealthy neighborhood, and several fully hispanic or black people do also, how are we from two different worlds? In fact, just looking at poor neighborhoods, if the black family has the father in it and everybody works they'll be the same as the majority of whites in that area.

Looking at the parts of society I can't stand, most white trash is just like most of the people in the ghetto. The ones who go to church will be different, the grannies might do more call-and-response in black churches from what I've seen but otherwise the food and the music is the same in the south.

The only black church I went to in the north was way different from the other ones here, it was more like what I saw in Arkansas. A tad more repetitive but that was just how their family was.

Different worlds meaning if I'm from the United States and I am not family oriented, not religious, and not into the typical marriage and kids biblical society way of life and then go on to date a person from another country that I find out his life and culture is all about having those much needed way of living, yes we come from two different worlds. We may get along and we may even have chemistry but we didn't work out since the end game was going to split our families apart and it made a difference. The skin color, race and religion wasn't an issue but our way of life and how we would live in our future makes a difference. Calling any race "trash" is not going to make progress in bringing cultures together. Money comes and goes but finding balance is what matters.

Most adults I believe are familiar with the negative and rude comment of being called "white trash". However it is not a part of the interracial relationship issue that was being discussed. Talking about which part of the "class" of society someone wants to put others in according to their household income and size is a completely different topic.

Being from another country has even less to do with it. Races exist in the same areas. Pretty sure as a white person living in AMERICA you should know that.

Classes and cultures have much more to do with compatibility than race or nationality, which again, is farther from the discussion than classes are. I grew up with extremely racist people around me in an area lousy with cults (shadier than normal fringe religions), and those are the people who've allowed me to not be that shocked by Uzbek culture. We had only one family of muslims in that town, and yet watered down former soviet Islamic culture is almost the same.

Money and where I live in my country play a part of my life so I make sure I do my best to provide the life I want. If I were in another country I probably wouldn't have the same opportunities. In the few that I have seen, there has been a very large "power difference" between spouses ( split in both directions race-wise). They just don't seem to be co-equals in the marriage.

Because people are stupid. My dad is mixed with black/Puerto Rican and my mom's mom hates him. Old fashioned Italian lady. That's ironically married to an Irish man. I guess she just doesn't like brown skin. But I'm mixed up either way you look at it and I don't really care about race. Character is what's important.
