+1 yDepends on location and the volume. I donāt think itās bad etiquette but itās inconsiderate and annoying as hell.
Iām the type of person who is a people pleaser, and I hate drawing attention to myself, so if I want to listen to something on my phone, I will bring headphones or put it on low volume and up to my ear. I donāt like to bother people at all.
As for other people, depending on the place, I canāt stand it if itās full volume⦠Especially in a public indoor place. It annoys me because itās inconsiderate of other people. I know some people donāt really care what others think, but itās just basic decency I guess.
My boyfriend is the loud, ADHD type of person, he doesnāt even realize if his phone is full volume and the ringer is on. Like, he doesnāt even notice the sound for some reason. We were in a store today and his work groupchat was blowing up his phone and his ringer was going off and Iām like, ābabe, can you turn that shit off?ā Lol.
Heās also the type to watch videos on his phone with full volume in my room while Iām trying to do homework or something. He doesnāt even realize itās that loud too. Bless his heart⦠I love him but it gets on my nerves lol.21 Reply

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yAs y'all probably are familiar with this:
"... rather than wait on hold, we can call YOU back in when it's your turn in...100 hours and 47 minutes. To receive a call back please press 1"
And then regardless of the fact that you are also human, you have to go potty, bathe, shop, pay at checkout, run errands, drive on the freeway, h**l even go to WORK, get to your other appointments, etc., they will basically drop in on you whenever they want. And don't you dare not take their call!
So please excuse me and everyone else in this specific scenario. In all others, yes, it is very annoying to hear your s**t.
And to those of you who watch funny cat videos over public wifi in public places like libraries WITH your headphones on, when you think you are laughing quietly to yourself, you are actually not. And to a bystander in the middle of that dead silent room, your quircky bouts of sudden weird laughter rising up from some indistinct spot out of the endless sea of cubicles, don't make you look like a highly sophisticated personage enjoying and having a good time by themselves, it makes you look like a complete and total moronic idiot.11 Reply- +1 y

+1 yI donāt even like it when people talk on the phone in public, even not on speaker. I donāt want to hear YOUR end of the conversation either, lmao. Cell phones are great to have for emergencies or being able to communicate while away from home. But I really donāt think we should just take it as license to just talk on them anywhere and everywhere. So yeah, under this same umbrella of thought, I donāt like when people utilize the speakers on their phone for whatever reason.

+1 yI certainly think it's rude if you're in a public or shared space. Like a short clip I can understand, but if you're sat down to watch an entire movie or continuously listen to music then get yourself some headphones.

It's rude, also, it's always some shitty music, I have never heard someone listening some jazz for example.
And I think if I tried blasting Cannibal Corpse, there would be a riot.
I hate those inconsiderate bastards.20 Reply328 opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic. The only person I know that does that is my mother. But she's forgiven because she barely knows how to use a smartphone.
Otherwise I don't know why a person would even do that. It doesn't bother me unless they got one of those earpieces. Because if they're near me and it's in the ear facing away from from me. I think they're talking to me. 🤣20 Reply- 488 opinions shared on Technology & Internet topic.
m +1 yI had a colleague sitting right beside me with his ringtone on a window shattering volume. His āexcuseā was, he didnāt know how to change it. After I gave him a death glare five times in a row, he suddenly gained the knowledge. 🤬🤬🤬

+1 yNot only bad etiquette, but it is also super annoying. 90% of people who do this, either have a phone call/video call with a very loud person gossiping about every single human being on the planet, or some teenager who plays out really cheesy trap music.
10 ReplyBring an external speaker and turn it up loud. Then play bagpipe music. Maybe they will get the idea.

+1 yIt is. I like to listen to Spanish songs, but you and many others might not, so playing those songs for all to hear will piss people off without fail.
