OK, there should be a sticker somewhere either under the hood and/or open up the driver's door and you should see a sticker on the car door frame near the back of the driver's seat.
HOWEVER, there SHOULD be an easier way.
Flex-fuel vehicles typically say they are flex-fuel on the trunk of the car. This is especially so with Fords.
On your car, the Flex Fuel badge or emblem would likely look like this or something similar:

So, if you don't see that or something like that on your trunk, you probably have a gas engine and not a flex-fuel engine.

Can My Car Use Flex-Fuel?
Manufacturers make flex-fuel vehicles with modified internal combustion engines that use traditional gasoline and ethanol blends, such as E85. A badge with “Flex-Fuel,” “FFV,” or “E85” on the rear of the vehicle may show that it is compatible with the alternative fuel.
Having a yellow gas cap is a good indication that the car can use flex-fuel. If the vehicle has a capless fuel filler, a yellow ring around the hole where the nozzle is inserted indicates that E85 may be used.
Using any octane level of gasoline in a flex-fuel vehicle is acceptable. The sensors in an FFV detect whether the fuel is pure gasoline or 85% ethanol and make necessary changes for optimal fuel injection and timing of combustion.
Putting E85 in a car not designed for flexible fuel can be harmful. Always refer to the owner’s manual for specifications on fuel to use in your vehicle.
Yeah definitely not a fancy flex fuel
An Inline 4 has its cylinders arranged in a Straightline while a V-6 will have two bans of three cylinders arranged in... surprise, a V configuration. If nothing else, just count the numbers of sparkplug wires. Flex fuel vehicles are not common, so it is likely a an inline 4.
I think that you are setting yourself up for trouble. Write down the VIN number and take it to the nearest Ford dealer. Go to the parts department and ask them specifically, "What is the part number for my car's air conditioner compressor?" Manufactures can change or update parts mid-year, so there might be more than one AC compressor for a 2012 Fusion. They can also tell you what additional small parts might be needed to properly install the replacement compressor.

Here is the Department Of Transportation's VIN decoder website:
https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/decoder/
If you plug your VIN in there, it can tell you a bunch of things about your car. You can find your VIN in the corner of the windshield, or by opening the driver's door and looking at the sticker on the door pillar (snap a pic with your phone).
Open the driver door and the sticker should give you all the details you need. If that doesn't work, open the hood and look at the engine compartment. There may be a sticker there with info on it, or there might be an engine cover that has the engine type molded into it. While under the hood, you can also count the number of spark plug wires... 4 means L4, 6 means V6.
open the hood. look at the decal on top of engine or on the radiator support (in front of the radiator). there should be a decal there that states which engine you have.
you can also copy down the vehicle identification number (vin) and poke it into google. it will be able to tell you most everything like that about the car.
your insurance documents may also have the info.
look under the hood. See how many spark plugs there are. If it is 6 than it is the V6. Hint: On the V6 there will be 3 on one side and 33 on the other. On the 4 cyl there are 4 in a row.
You need to copy down your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which is probably on the dashboard, or on the door sill. Check AutoZone or another auto parts site that allows you to enter the VIN and it will tell you exactly what model you have.
You need to speak with the dealership they should have answers
Open up the driver's door and look on the inside of the door jamb there should be something there or look inside the glove box or just look on your title or your registration or your insurance
Check under the hood, should be a sticker under there somewhere. Usually somewhere near the latch or on top of the radiator cover
Look inside your door jam at the Vin sticker. It should tell you your model
If you pop the trunk, there should be an indication of the type of engine you're rocking somewhere on the engine
It will probably be on a sticker on the motor, or on the vin number.
You should’ve taken a picture of under the hood and posted it here.
Take a look at your engine and it should be obvious if it has 6 cylinders or not
Open the hood.. it should say somewhere on the top of the engine
Ask your dad to check the engine l4 are usually aj engine is a straight line v6 comes like a v shape Google
here's a crazy and wild idea read the manual and look at your vin number
Why don’t you have your father help you
try doing a search online by the VIN# of your car
Under the hood.
Prob not a V6
