At this moment, 151. And this is lower than average.
I do a LOT of research, hunting for information and photos for bids and instructions, and for all kinds of other things. I often have 4 or 5 different projects that I'm working on at the same time - plus interruptions from other people.
I'm definitely what you'd call a "power user", and there's a REASON my computer has 64 GB of RAM and 4 TB of NVMe storage plus 16 TV of spinning hard drive storage - not counting external drives. My computer rarely sits idle - I may be ripping music from CDs and encoding them, or rendering video files, or SOMETHING. I even have it on a large UPS (3000 VA), so it will run for a bit over 2 hours at full load if the power goes out (and will shut itself off when the battery hits 10% remaining).
I've been putting off a major computer upgrade - especially with the economy tanking, but I'm really overdue. My current machine was built in 2016, and it's struggling to keep up at times. My biggest upgrade desire is to go with 10Gb/s networking, because I move a lot of files around and 1Gb/s (the standard for nearly 20 years now) is becoming a problem. 10Gb/s networking gear is starting to become affordable...
i7-6700K I believe. In tech time, it's ancient. I'm trying to survive until the GeForce 4000 cards are released, as I don't want to buy a 3080 just as it's being replaced. I don't game much, but I use my current card a lot for video rendering. In the mean time, I have to live with a 6 year old CPU. It's not terrible, but I do have to wait on the computer surprisingly often, and that gets old.
Both my GPU and CPU are bottlenecks right now. I can make due of course, but workloads increase over time, media resolutions and bit depths increase, and at some point you need more horsepower. I have a 1080, and would have moved to a 3080 2 years ago if the crypto fad hadn't destroyed the GPU market. But 4000 series cards are coming soon, and I don't want to buy at the end of the life cycle.
I currently have 12 open. That's fairly typical. Sometimes it can get up to double or even triple that many, but by then I tend to start deleting them because I know I'll never get back to them.
I usually have several Wikipedia links open. I usually have a few forums and sites like this open. Sometimes 1-3 YouTube open. Plus whatever searches I've been doing.
Arround 30 maybe even more. I have a few standart tabs that are allways open. 2 email programms not integratable in outlook, reddit, a few youtube tabs, amazon, a few tabs for online pen and paper, and the rest work tabs, and other non permanent tabs. I use different woriIng areas in opera though. So its divided into fun, pap, work, shopping, etc.
I currently have 11 tabs open... yeah, sounds about right! LOL.
I average about 10-15 at a time. Some of which I never use or look at daily. But I keep them tabbed, so I won't forget about them. I'm the type of person if I don't see it, I won't think about it. So I keep certain tabs open, so I'll remember to go to said site to check in.

My current desktop Google Chrome session has four windows with more than 15 tabs each, same for my laptop Chrome session
I also have a stored MS Edge session on my laptop, this has four windows with 5-10 tabs per window.
three or less... I am also neat with my work, lmao
but sometimes I do use three different browsers or apps and/or screens
Typically none.
I don't use a computer anymore, my mobile is all I need.
took some out, was 27, hey thanks for reminding me. have 20 now
oh... at any time, um probably about the same
usually, anywhere from 8 to 15. on my phone, it's usually double.
Always 5 or less. Too much gives me anxiety.
Right now, I have 11 tabs open, which is pretty typical, sometimes more, sometimes fewer.
At the moment, it's 15 BUT, 9 of those are You Tube and 2 are 45cat.
I try to keep it under 5 it kinda feels the computer runs slower if multiple things are all going at once.
I use different browsers so I have many tabs open for that I look it
a youtube, a 2nd youtube if i watch too long a video and get bored, and a conversation tab like this site, or one more for nonsense
5 at the moment at most maybe 10-15 but not that often usually its between 1-5
20-30? lol
I’ll get back to them eventually. ^_^;
I do a lot of research. For designs, ideas, news, professional training
As less as possible
My head literally hurts when I see too many tabs open. I feel like I’ve got so much to do now when I see many tabs open.
It takes up too much RAM and slows your machine down. Less is more!
If I’m doing genealogy, I usually have 5-6 open
Seven at minimum. Right now, there are 10.
Most of the time it is 2 or 3.
Really depends on what I'm doing.
