Is it possible to receive Instagram DM notifications in your emails?

I'm asking this because I wanna uninstall instagram. I've been ghosted by my boyfriend and I can't stop obsessing over whether or not he'll respond. So I'd like to uninstall Insta and still be notified if he ever decides to send me a message.

You sound just like my friend: rather than block or delete your ex off IG you’d rather disable your whole page in hopes that he’ll notice and reach out. Let me tell you it is ineffective, because if he doesn’t care now then you pulling some silly manipulation tactic won’t change that. What you have to do is come to terms with the fact that it’s over so you can move on. If you keep telling yourself that you can’t let go then you’ll never stop hurting and who wants to live in that misery? The best revenge is carrying on and letting him see he didn’t break you or destroy your world. Even if you’re dying behind the scenes, stop showing him and making him feel like your entire existence revolves around him, because then he’ll simply pity you, and you’re better than being dumped and sympathized over.

Oh well we aren't following each other anymore. But the ghoster recently cameback, acted like it wasn't my fault (and that they went through some dramas), and acted like they still think about me, etc. I replied after a day, and they left me on read. So really, I'm just trying to move on and forget about them. That's why I wanna uninstall IG. It's not even my main social media, so I don't care much about it. But I'd still like to receive notifications if they ever decide to reply.

I get it, like I have IG too technically but done use it. Still if I delete it after that drama, the person I had the issue with would definitely feel like they’re the cause, especially since it’s not my main social media and I still deleted it. If you want to then no judgement from me, but blocking them would be so much better, rather than giving them the chance to reach back out and engage conversation. They shouldn’t be allowed to pick and choose when you’re going to matter.
