If you send a DM to someone who doesn't follow you, will they still get a push notification?

Let's say you've been texting someone and they unfollow you.

What happens next time you text them? Will your message go to their inbox, or will it go to the message requests (if so, will they still get a push notification)?

I think that would depend on their notification settings and how they've set them up

I've tested it with another account. I've sent texts back and forth on both of my accounts. After that, I've unfollowed the other account. And I still received notifications (both on my phone and on my pc). And the conversation didn't go to the message requests.

I think this is because I've already exchanged messages with that account. But I don't know if this is still the case with the other accounts.
