Why do I want to hide from the world?

I avoid going on Facebook because I don’t want anybody to see me or talk about me or know I exist and I associate publicity with rejection. I have not talked on Facebook since around 2019 or so. I also avoid logging into LinkedIn for the same reason, I don’t want publicity or attention.

That's totally understandable given the negatives associated with social media. We don't need it to communicate with our friends and family anyway. If you don't get anything out of using it, there's nothing wrong with avoiding it.

I think it's a normal thing I don't even use social media anymore besides snapchat cause I don't care about showcasing my life or hearing about others' lives. Just never been for me.

No facebook. LinkIn for job openings. Never been comfortable with social media. Either because of fear of rejection or garnering unwanted attention.

I imagine this is what it’s like to be a celebrity. And I’m pretty sure a number of them just want to lead normal lives while making movies. I don’t concern myself with tabloids. But I suppose it goes with the territory. Can’t be famous with being popular or something.

Social media can be very stressful, especially for women and especially if one has been attacked publicly via social media in the past.
